With their FlexFlow family of flow and temperature sensors, Baumer has expanded their process sensor portfolio. Based on the calorimetric measurement principle, the FlexFlow family can monitor both flow velocity as well as media temperature. The sensors have IO-Link and, depending on settings and connections, either two switching outputs or one switching and one analog output (4...20 mA/ 0...10 V). The PF20H and PF20S versions are suitable for hygienic and industrial applications.
Japanese machine tool manufacturer Makino Milling Machine Co., Ltd. reports on a financial year of stable global turnover. Major growth in the export business compensated for a weakened demand in the domestic market. Despite vast political uncertainties around the world, record-high turnover levels were achieved in the Americas, Europe and Asia. Orders from Europe were up by more than 70% with major contributions from the aerospace and industrial components sectors. In the year of its 80th anniversary, Makino will launch numerous new technologies at the EMO in Hannover where a wide spectrum of 5-axis, automation and Industry 4.0 solutions will be exhibited.
At the yearly press conference in Kirchheim unter Teck, Makino announced the launch of the latest addition to its family of 5-axis machining centres, the a500Z. Based on proven technologies of Makino’s a1 series, the new 5-axis horizontal machining centre is tailor-made for complex-parts production.
The new Makino L2 5-axis vertical machining centre delivers high accuracy and rigidity from a ultra-compact footprint. Two models dedicated for indexing applications and impeller machining, respectively, will be launched at EMO in Hannover this year. Both have been custom-designed for high-volume, small-part manufacturing processes, ready for automation.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2017, NORD Motorreductores S.A., the Spanish subsidiary of the NORD DRIVESYSTEMS Group, is looking back at a quarter century of growing success.
