Fingrid Purchases Load Frequency Control Solution from GE Digital to Meet European Electricity Balancing Guidelines

GE Digital (NYSE: GE) today announced that Fingrid, the national electricity transmission grid operator in Finland, purchased the Load Frequency Control (LFC) solution from GE Digital’s Grid Software Solutions business to help Fingrid prepare to meet the requirements of the Nordic Balancing Model project. Transmission System Operators (TSOs) across the region are required to address LFC mandated by newly issued regulations for Electricity Balancing.

Test and measurement specialist Rohde & Schwarz, together with connector and cable assembly manufacturer Rosenberger have successfully demonstrated compliance testing for MultiGBASE-T1 supporting 2.5/5/10GBASE-T1 automotive Ethernet speeds, based on the OPEN Alliance TC9 working group test specification. This development enables vehicle manufacturers and component suppliers to have confidence in the performance of future, high-speed in-vehicle networks.

Lefae is qualified for testing in explosive atmosphere

Lefae is the Emitech Group's laboratory specializing in environmental testing with severe constraints: fire testing and combined climatic testing. Based in France near Lyon, it has just qualified a new testing facility for verifying the conformity of equipment installed in potentially explosive zones (equivalent to ATEX requirements) in the presence of hydrocarbon fluids and vapours. Conditions of explosivity are often found in the aeronautics and military industry, but also in the automotive and marine industries.
