Morgan Advanced Materials

Morgan Advanced Materials launches new range of high-temperature kiln furniture and crucible materials

Morgan Advanced Materials has made a further addition to its extensive product portfolio with the launch of a new range of high-temperature kiln furniture. Ideal for use at temperatures up to 1,700oC (3,092oF) under corrosive conditions, the launch of this new range in MgO-Spinel has been developed in response to the changing needs of the market.

Fluke Process Instruments

Kiln and furnace temperature logs analyzed and optimized

Berlin – Operators of kilns and furnaces can now make the best of their resources: the new DATAPAQ Insight Basic software from Fluke Process Instruments enables precise and fast analysis of thermal processes. The manufacturer also supplies a full range of thermal barriers and data loggers that record temperature profiles while inside the furnace or kiln. Trimmed down to the essentials but with highly useful application-specific tools, DATAPAQ Insight Basic is the right software for manufacturers working in a competitive market. A new contour plot function generates heat maps of 2D products, allowing line operators to pinpoint hot and cold spots and identify possible causes such as faulty burners. Ceramics manufacturers can rely on the tested and proven quartz index analysis function for close monitoring of heating and cooling rates across the quartz inversion zone. They can set alarms for time at temperature and slopes. Usability has been further improved through a new, simplified process file template, which gathers together all process and oven parameters. DATAPAQ Insight Basic is available in 14 languages. Users can toggle between selected languages on the fly. The software fully supports the new DATAPAQ TP3 data loggers with up to 20 thermocouples, including support for multiple thermocouple types, up to ten runs before data read-out, multiple events, start/stop triggers, real-time process monitoring via radio, and Bluetooth connectivity.

New tools to increase Lockout/Tagout efficiency

Lockout/Tagout is being implemented in an increasing number of industries. That is no surprise since the procedure, if applied correctly, guarantees employee safety. New innovations in Lockout/Tagout aim to increase efficiency by focusing on product flexibility and ease of use.

NORD Drivesystems

Intelligent, adaptive drive control – hybrid solutions for centralized and distributed drive control

Bargteheide – NORD DRIVESYSTEMS showcased smart control solutions for synchronous and induction motors at the 2015 SPS IPC Drives exhibition in Nuremberg, Germany. The SK 200E frequency inverter series was a centerpiece of the presentation. Featuring an integrated positioning function, the highest overload capability and broadest performance range (0.25 kW to 22 kW), these technologically advanced units are leading the field of electronics for distributed drive control. One prominently placed exhibit demonstrated their great flexibility especially in large-scale installations with a centralized automation concept: normally controlled via fieldbus or Industrial Ethernet, they can be instantly disconnected via a switch, e.g. for maintenance purposes. The inverter-integrated PLC then takes over and executes tasks like positioning. In case of an unintentional, sudden disruption of communication with a higher-level control system, an SK 200E is able to keep crucial process stages running in order to limit production losses.

NORD 4.0 READY: drive technology for automated production in the age of IIoT

Bargteheide – Machine and plant designs that live up to the German "Industrie 4.0" framework and the similar concept of the "Industrial Internet of Things" require smart drive technology with high flexibility and functionality. The drives must be seamlessly integrated into communication networks, ensure efficient data processing, and support modular, decentralized control concepts. Launching the label "NORD 4.0 READY", German manufacturer NORD DRIVESYSTEMS provides scalable electrical drive systems and software to cover the full spectrum of tasks, from simple actuators to complex networked systems.

KOLLMORGEN

Double the performance in the field . Distributed servo technology: AKD-N series from KOLLMORGEN now up to 12 A

KOLLMORGEN expands its fields of application for the distributed servo technology with a significant increase in performance. The three-phase AKD-N series now delivers currents up to 12 A – equivalent to a doubling of output to 4.8 kW. The AKD-C central rectifier units are also bringing more power. With 20 kW the compact devices are now also providing double the previous maximum continuous output of 10kW. The short-term peak output for both devices is at just short of three times the nominal current.

PORTESCAP

New Ultra High Torque 22ECT Brushless Slotless Motor

Portescap introduces the newest addition to our Ultra EC™ mini motor platform, the 22ECT brushless motor, designed specifically to deliver ultra high torque in a compact size. With the unique coil technology and a patent pending multipolar rotor design, the 22ECT has been developed to be one of the most advanced and highest performing brushless slotless motors in its class. The 22ECT is specifically optimized for high continuous torque at low to medium speeds, maximizing power between 10 K and 20 K rpm. These motors are capable of delivering 2 times higher continuous torque than comparable BLDC motors of same size over the entire low speed range when used with gears.

ACS Motion Control

New Dual Axis EtherCAT® PWM Servo Drive Module From ACS Delivers Sub-Nanometer Performance

ACS Motion Control has expanded its NanoPWM™ line of ground breaking PWM (pulse width modulation) servo drives to include a new dual axis EtherCAT drive. The NPMPM Series of EtherCAT servo drive modules provide motion performance that was previously only achievable using linear drives, without the drawbacks of such linear drives. The NPMpm drives are significantly smaller, much more efficient, produce less heat dissipation, better protected and lower in cost.

Baumer

New CleverLevel series: Level switch with frequency sweep technology in miniaturized design for extra flexibility at high temperatures

The popular CleverLevel series by Baumer now includes another five LBFS product variants. The world’s most compact level switch based on frequency sweep technology now includes a cooling neck for high temperature applications, a long version for improved level detection in bulk media and with a process connection compliant to US and Far East standards.
