In combination with the right materials, sunbeams can work wonders: they clean building facades and decompose pollutants from the air or in the water. The magic word is photocatalysis. In practice, though, the effectiveness of this „miracle cure“ fluctuates greatly, depending on the material used and the environmental factors. With a new measuring device, researchers now want to determine the photocatalytic effectiveness of surfaces more accurately and quickly, thereby increasing efficiency.
For this project, HARTING combines the robust M12 interface with the clever preLink® connection technology. In the spring of 2018, HARTING expanded its preLink® cabling system with D- and x-coded M12 sockets for this project. The modular sockets can be used both as a free-flying cable coupling, but also as a robust wall bushing.
NORD DRIVESYSTEMS has thoroughly redesigned its two-stage SK 02040.1 helical worm gear unit. The new SK 02040.1, made from high strength aluminium, replaces the previous cast iron product. The one-piece die cast UNICASE housing guarantees maximum strength and rigidity with low weight. In addition, aluminium is considerably more corrosion-resistant than steel and can be further protected with the aid of additional measures such as the highly effective nsd tupH surface treatment.
In the field of heavy current measurement, current transformers are essential. Among the important parameters are reliability and accuracy, to guarantee very lengthy service life. A measurement device like this one from Camille Bauer Metrawatt AG, developed and manufactured in Switzerland, normally always needs one current transformer for each conductor, which is why these products are so important.
The buildings where we live, sleep, work hold enormous potential in energy savings. We can unlock these opportunities hidden behind concrete, glass and steel – to create huge savings, jobs and better places to live. The revised EPBD is a significant step to unlock this potential.
