TDK Corporation announces the availability of the InvenSense ICM-42688-P high-performance motion sensor, a 6-axis MEMS MotionTracking device that combines a 3-axis gyroscope and a 3-axis accelerometer in a 2.5mm x 3mm x 0.9mm package. The device enables high-precision motion sensing applications such as robotics, wearable devices, drones and many other IoT devices.
As demand for 5G NR device testing grows, PCTEST with Element expands its test capabilities to include 5G FR1 and FR2 conformance and network operator testing.
Baumer Hübner has established the class of extraordinarily resilient and reliable HeavyDuty encoders and offers a broad portfolio. Manufacturers of cranes and hoists are among the most frequent users of such sensors. And for good reason: These applications are most demanding and here they can play to their strengths - robustness, precision, resistance and longevity.
Look inside a CNC machine, and you’ll find sophisticated recirculating ball linear bearings performing the mission-critical motion tasks. But when you go beyond the spindle and essential cutting or milling components, you’ll find auxiliary axes that don't have the high accuracy and precision requirements that are typically prescribed for expensive motion components.
Plastic in cars reduces their weight. Currently, however, camshaft modules, which are a key component of powertrains, are still being made from aluminum. Now a research team from the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology ICT, in collaboration with their partners, has succeeded in manufacturing a camshaft module from fiber-reinforced thermoset polymers. This lightweight design element helps lower engine weight and reduces assembly costs. It is currently available as a functional demonstrator.
