Already very popular in the USA, the JBX metal push-pull connector by Esterline Connection Technologies – Souriau, has made quite a splash on the European market. Its look, ease of use, and contact density in a small space make it the ideal connector for medical, audiovisual, and instrumentation applications. Two versions, IP40 and IP68, are available from Esterline Connection Technologies – Souriau's international distribution network.

Fast, reliable connections
The JBX connector range makes connections and connections possible with just two fingers. The mechanically keyed and colour-coded shells prevent cross-mating while an audible click ensures that the plugs are tightly in place. For some applications, a cable attached to the rear connector allows the plug to be quickly and safely disconnected in the event of emergency or entanglement.

Protection, integrity, and standardisation
The shells, plugs, and rear connectors are made of brass with chrome-over-nickel or black anodized plating. While IP40 ingress protection is sufficient for some applications, such as studio cameras, IP68 protection is necessary if there is a risk of splashes. The JBX range of metal push-pull connector is available in both IP versions, features a temperature range of -40°C and +125°C, and boasts a guaranteed endurance of 1000 mating cycles. Its salt-spray, shock, and vibration resistance means that it is suited to a host of industrial applications.

A comprehensive, standard range of connectors
The JBX metal push-pull connector comes in five sizes for a total of 42 possible layouts ranging from two power contacts (up to 30A) to 30 signal contacts, including mixed layouts. The male and female contact terminations may be soldered or crimped. Among the eight models of shell, some have straight contacts or right-angle contacts for PCB connection. Lastly, the plugs come in a wide selection of breakaway, angled, and cable-fitted styles.
