New generation of LUDV valves: Modular RS20 platform from Rexroth
The new RS20 platform consists of freely combinable function modules.
The compatibility with discs from the RS15 platform helps to avoid over-engineering.Individual solutions in pane construction enable the future-proof integration of different functions.
No compromise on longevity and robustness - this was the basis for the development of the new design. With a maximum flow rate of 300 l / min, the RS20 platform from Rexroth achieves even lower pressure losses compared to the monoblock predecessor M7-20. At the same time, the disc design opens up the possibility of combining any number of small and large valve discs.
Thus, each consumer in mobile machines targeted the volume flow is supplied, which is needed. Slice by slice, manufacturers can customize their control blocks so that their requirements can be optimally implemented.
Control blocks from Bosch Rexroth have been providing reliable service in mobile applications for over 20 years. As an alternative and successor to the established series M7-20 and M6-22, the company is presenting a new concept for bauma 2019 with its RS20 series. The consolidated platform marks the transition from monoblock to flexible disc design.
For the first time ever, machine manufacturers are able to put together flexibly combined control blocks for mobile and crawler excavators from 13 to 17 tons as well as wheel loaders and dozers from 20 to 50 tons. Other applications include material handling, mobile cranes, forklifts and drilling rigs. The number and arrangement of the functional modules, even of different nominal sizes and control technology, always makes it possible to flexibly serve different applications.
The new concept accompanies the changing requirements of the market and opens up new possibilities for manufacturers of mobile machines. Functions that previously had to be freestanding can now be integrated into the control block. These include a stabilization module, priority modules or an anti-drift valve. The pump and return channels go through the entire control block without deflection or constriction.
The sealing surfaces between the individual panes were developed so that no leakage to the outside can occur. With the disc design, the compressive strength of the new control block compared to the monoblock predecessors could even be improved.
However, the new concept not only allows the machine manufacturer to combine more freely. The future-proof design also allows him to integrate modules to realize future market requirements. Electronized components, such as the likewise new A10VOH axial piston variable displacement pump from Rexroth, can be connected in any configuration.
The RS20 platform is ideal for integrating incremental functions that should be electrohydraulically controlled today or in the future. Likewise, combinations with the existing RS15 platform are possible.
Interested parties can find out more about the RS20 platform at bauma (Hall A3, Booth 327). You can also see the prototype of the planned tool for online configuration as well as the next larger version of the LUDV valve platform with the RS22. This is still in the concept phase. However, Bosch Rexroth already wants to give its customers an outlook.
Bosch Rexroth, as one of the world's leading providers of drive and control technologies, ensures efficient, powerful and safe movement in machines and plants of all types and sizes. The company brings together global application experience in the mobile application, plant engineering, and factory automation market segments.
