Redex continues to demonstrate its strong economic health

Despite the economic difficulties currently facing the industrial sector, Redex, a mechanical transmission and fine metals equipment specialist, will see 2009 revenues that will equal or better 2008’s exceptional numbers

Two-speed spindle drive gearbox - RAM High Torque

REDEX-ANDANTEX stands out with a complete range of spindle drive gearboxes designed for the highest-performance machine-tools, but also with outstanding torque transmission capacity. The new RAM High Torque has been designed for full in-line integration inside the ram between the motor and the spindle. This allows the electronic sensors to be located outside the gearbox, while simplifying maintenance operations.

KRPX

KRPX is the new version of REDEX ANDANTEX rack & pinion high-tech planetary reducers. KRPX is a cost effective, easy to implement and high performing solution for moving column and gantry machine types. Made of two planetary reducers, KRPX allows perfect mounting on both sides of the machine frame. They are coupled with an electrical preload system enabling true zero backlash. This planetary reduction gear for rack and pinion applications offers exceptional rigidity characteristics, in particular through the one-piece output pinion technology invented by REDEX-ANDANTEX. It provides unrivalled radial rigidity (accounting for up to 60% of overall rigidity).

ANDANTEX equips the most innovating label manufacturing machines available on the market

ETI Converting Equipment is a company specialized in the design of machines for the manufacture of self-adhesive label equipment and printing presses. Recently, ETI Converting Equipment developed a revolutionary process for the application of a treatment on the parent material that increases the adhesive capacity of the ink, glue, or any other coating. Result: the printer can now purchase a much cheaper non-treated film and make considerable savings in label manufacture. In this leading edge process, ANDANTEX USA offers solutions marketed by MEROBEL (REDEX ANDANTEX group), a world leader in the web tension control field.

ALTIC uses MEROBEL electromagnetic braking to control wire tension on its tensioners

High-speed coil winding requires the use of a tensioner between the feed coil and the receiving coil (end product). Fine control and the trend towards using larger-diameter wires to meet the high demand for electrical equipment such as transformers means that tension control solutions are required which offer high torque density as well as easy torque control. ALTIC, inventor of the modern tensioner and a benchmark for the sector, has selected EMP electromagnetic brakes from MEROBEL for its entire electrical and electronic range.

High Tech machines are not an option

With the new GGTronic, Italian OEM GIANA decided to position itself on the higher level of machine-tools technology. “It is the only way to survive” explains Giulio Maria Giana, the company manager and technical director. As this milling & turning equipment in one set solution for big mechanical parts, very high rigidity becomes obviously a crucial design feature. Positioning has also to be very precise, reaching values as low as ±0.01mm, with a repeated accuracy of ±0.005 mm. To achieve these performances, GIUSEPPE GIANA went one step ahead by implemented REDEX-ANDANTEX’s TwinDRIVE on the machine, the original rack and pinion drive solution.
