Makino
Makino DA300: The precise 5-axis vertical machining centre delivering the same productivity as a horizontal machining centre.
Kirchheim unter Teck, September 2016. – Makino launches DA300 – the latest 5-axis vertical machining centre. The DA300 provides an ideal blend of speed, precision and flexibility for multi-axis complex workpieces in the smallest of machine footprints. Inspired by the best design characteristics from both vertical and horizontal machining centres, the DA300 combines the structural rigidity and accuracy of a vertical centre with the high produc-tivity and reliability of a horizontal centre, offering the best-of-both-worlds. It significantly reduces the part cycle times while achieving very accurate per-formance.

BALLUFF
More efficiency and flexibility IO-Link sensor/actuator hub with expansion port
IO-Link actuator/sensor hubs from Balluff feature eight ports for 16 in-/outputs. They allow for example signals from up to 16 switching sensors to be collected from a distance of up to 20 m so that they can be made available to the machine controller via IO-Link and an IO-Link master using a simple 3-conductor cable. Brand new in the market are versions with an expansion port.

NORD Drivesystems
Smart drive resolves blockages on its own
Bargteheide – Intelligent drives from NORD DRIVESYSTEMS with an integrated PLC are fully equipped to execute control sequences in customer applications. Featuring numerous sensor interfaces and extensive diagnostic as well as process control functions, they can detect blockages and in many cases independently restore normal operation. This improves system availability and reduces servicing requirements. If the drive is able to remove an obstacle, such as a blockage in a pipe, by repeatedly changing the motor speed and direction, it will then resume normal operation. If the problem persists, the inverter can submit an error signal to the control level and possibly initiate a fallback procedure, for instance by having other networked drive units unlock a bypass. Any such measures can be programmed individually specific to an application. This gives users independently operating, intelligent plant segments and machinery such as sorters, portioning and packaging systems, single pumps or groups of pumps, crushers, or screw conveyors. At the same time, optimum integration into automation networks is ensured. The inverter PLC can pre-process drive and application data for a higher-level controller for various uses including diagnostics. NORD provides low-maintenance, versatile distributed drive electronics with exceptionally good electromagnetic compatibility for synchronous and induction motors up to 22 kW.
