Due to the increase in demand for fiber laser cutting machines
Xteg is optimizing Chinese machines with quality German components, among other elements, with Lantek software.
The recently founded company Xteg offers affordable and high quality fiber laser cutting machines for the processing of sheet metal and metal, together with support and supply of services. The basic machines come from the Chinese company HGTECH, where production is rapidly resuming following the downtime caused by the coronavirus epidemic in China. The quality components come from Germany, along with the CAD/CAM nesting software from Lantek, the world renowned software specialist.
The executive director of Xteg, Tobias Kersten, describes the three series for the processing of sheet metal and metal with fiber laser technology as "Germanized machines" and states: "We have complemented our Chinese partner's basic installations with quality components that are developed and produced here in Germany. The spare parts also come from Germany".
Since December 2019, at the recently inaugurated Application and Presentation Center in the Frank municipality of Neuenstein, in Heilbronn, you can see the MARVEL series of 2D fiber laser cutting machines. It is still open, albeit with the greatest precautions in terms of hygiene and safety. To find out more information online, at the Xteg website (www.xteg.de) you can find detailed information and a presentation video of the Center. In the product portfolio, there is also the AUTOBOT series for 3D laser processing, as well as the LT series with laser tube cutting machines.
Support and software updates from Germany
Quality components Made in Germany: For its machines, Xteg uses CNC controls and Siemens motors, cutting heads by Precitec and aspiration technique by Camfil. With Lantek, Xteg has incorporated an IT expert that not only brings extensive experience with them, but "with their neutral manufacturing software, the clients are not tied down to one type of specific machine and other technologies are also on offer, besides laser processing", states Kersten. "Also, with the CAD software, the companies can also calculate prices and, with other Lantek models, they can interconnect their production and the whole company ".
The Xteg series for 2D and 3D laser processing is equipped with the whole Lantek Expert software, and the fiber laser tube cutting machine with Lantek Flex 3D. Matthias Rolf, Area Sales Manager at Lantek: "In close collaboration with our Chinese colleagues and the technicians at HGLaser in China, and also in situ in Germany, we have tailored the basic installation of our nesting software in the Xteg machines. In doing this, we have adopted all of the relevant machine parameters and we have also developed a new post processor". According to Kersten, another of the advantages in the collaboration with Lantek for Xteg clients is that the support and software updates come from Germany.
Lantek's software product portfolio contains over 30 years of experience in the processing of sheet metal. It covers the whole process, from creating the offer to completing invoices, including production and warehouse management. With these analysis tools, Lantek provides the company's management with useful instruments for making decisions based on data. The modules are intertwined according to the modular construction principle, they are combined individually and depending on the level of digitization of the individual company, and they can continue to expand.
Multifaceted advantages of laser cutting technology
The founders of Xteg are not new to the sector. The sheet metal processing companies of the mteg enterprise, up until now, have been successfully equipped with machines that use different technologies, including CO2 laser. But the following advantages have been disclosed in terms of sheet metal processing with fiber laser technology: The machines are environmentally-friendly, they are more energy-efficient and economic, as they are managed without laser gas and they have less maintenance requirements thanks to their structure being simpler.
The laser beam is guided to the interface with greater energy and density, with a considerably shorter wavelength. This enables faster manufacturing speeds and, due to the smaller focus diameter, cutting that is considerably more precise and stable. Finally, it is especially advantageous in the processing of thin sheet metal.
Xteg aims to satisfy the increased demand for fiber laser in Germany and, to this end, in August 2019, it took on exclusive representation with HGLaser for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. HGLaser is a brand of the Chinese company HGTECH, which is among the 10 biggest laser manufacturers worldwide. In coordination with Xteg, HGTECH has adapted its machines to the requirements of the local market in terms of user interfaces, DIN norms and security provisions. After several weeks of inactivity due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Chinese are currently returning to their workplaces.
"Production has taken off again quickly and they are almost at 100% again", informs Kersten. Meanwhile, the environment in the German sheet metal processing market is changing. "Many companies are currently considering moving their production to Germany again. It's a place where there is a demand for fiber laser machines that are both economic and high-quality with German support, components and spare parts", says Kersten of the sector, adding: "Our good value for money will convince them".
