The true strength of safety procedures lies with acceptance and practicality. Incidents can be reduced if people are able and willing to follow the safety procedure. Because this is so important, Brady Corporation offers its Lockout/Tagout Global Best Practice Training Movie in many languages: UK English, US English, French, Canadian French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Turkish, Russian and Chinese.

In every language, the Lockout/Tagout Movie shows how to use the various lockout/tagout devices and how they prevent incidents and fatalities. What the movie really shows is how small, logical and almost effortless steps can have such an impact on employee safety. You can add or remove modules from the training movie according to your needs.

Lockout/Tagout
Globally, millions of workers are exposed to hazardous equipment energies every day. Thousands of avoidable injuries and fatalities occur because equipment has not been safely de-energised before servicing.

Lockout / Tagout (LOTO) is a safety procedure to ensure that dangerous machines are properly shut off and not started up again prior to completion of maintenance or servicing work. Lockout / Tagout works in conjunction with a padlock/lockout device usually locking the device or the power source, and placing it in such a position that hazardous power sources cannot be turned on. The procedure requires that a tag is applied to the locked device indicating that it should not be turned on.

Go for zero
Both lockout/tagout devices and the Lockout/Tagout Global Best Practice Training Movie can be important assets to reduce the number of incidents or risks in maintenance and servicing. By locking the energy source, whether it is electrical, mechanical or hydraulic in nature, the equipment being serviced is more secure and less prone to cause harm. Only when the last maintenance worker has removed his padlock, can the energy source be turned on again. This effectively puts maintenance workers in charge of their individual security and makes lockout/tagout a reliable ally to reduce the number of risks and incidents in any industry.
