“Productive” Investment in the future
New Center of Excellence GBS Göppingen offers the very latest, comprehensive, industry-based CNC training.
Officially opened on November 17, The Center of Excellence GBS Göppingen in Germany’s mechanical engineering heartland was conceived for CNC training in cooperation with Festo Didactic and EMCO. The training rooms have been equipped with the latest laboratory technology from Festo Didactic and with machinery from EMCO. Alongside a Concept Turn 250, Concept Mill 250 and a Maxxturn 45, money has been invested in a milling center for 5-axis machining Maxxmill 500.The center will boast about 500 trainees in production-related metalworking professions (e.g. machining technicians, industrial mechanics and tool makers), a further 50 attendees from the Technical College and around 250 students from the Technical Gymnasium in an ideal learning environment. The highly motivated teaching staff is well-informed as to the demands of industry, industry-related machines and the latest text books and training materials. The cutting-edge center will also be used in the future for practical and method-based advanced training for trainers and educators.
