Benchmark in apprentice training: The BMW Group plant in Steyr is a model factory. It produces diesel and petrol engines as well as e-mobility components.
SINUMERIK ONE, the digital native CNC with new technological functions and a redesigned user interface, is already being used successfully on EMCO turning and milling machines. The advantages of this new generation of controls are obvious: straightforward access to the world of Sinumerik ONE (95% operational compatibility with Sinumerik 840 D sl) as well as optimised machining speed, contouring accuracy and machining quality with innovative technological features.
In machine tool manufacturing, one of the main preconditions for ensuring productivity and delivery readiness is a cleanly structured production process, with precisely timed production sequences and reliably functioning manufacturing systems. This can only be achieved if the customer and supplier take a common, goal-oriented approach to production chain projects.
An Ecomill travelling column milling machine by Emco Mecof has been used in Komatsu Germany‘s production since March 2021. Acquired as a replacement for two older machining centres, the Ecomill has since been saving valuable space and working hours and increased the Hanover-based construction machinery manufacturer‘s productivity to a significant extent. The building construction and civil engineering sectors have been booming for many years now.
Taking into account that we are looking back on 75 years of history, we have good reason to be proud of our achievements. However, managing director Dr. Stefan Hansch believes that the foundation for further innovations is built upon Emco's wealth of experience. 'Our sites offer comprehensive know-how in the area of turning, milling and training machines. We have succeeded in bundling this knowledge and putting it into practice in the form of turnkey solutions for our customers.'.
2021/22 was a very challenging financial year marked by Corona, supply chain issues and short-time work. Notwithstanding these difficulties, EMCO could close the financial year from 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022 with a 24-percent increase in sales, thus recovering the sales level of 2019. We were able to keep our staff in Hallein and are currently looking for new employees to complete our teams in different departments, including Service, Internal Sales, IT etc. From the autumn of 2022, we will also expand our trainee teams, especially those in the area of industrial vocations. Apart from that, we will offer three additional apprenticeships (engineering or mechatronics) for Ukrainian refugees.
