Schaeffler has more than 70 plants worldwide and is supplied by around 9,000 production material suppliers. In this regard, Schaeffler expects outstanding quality, reliability, and cost discipline from its suppliers. Paired with innovative ideas and global availability of products, these are the ideal prerequisites to receive an award for being one of Schaeffler’s top suppliers.
Chief Operating Officer Andreas Schick honored the best suppliers during a get-together of 130 major and strategically important suppliers, which was attended by more than 320 participants at company headquarters in Herzogenaurach. He awarded the prizes to a total of 20 partner companies:

Mr. Schick thanked the companies honored for their cooperation while maintaining an outstanding quality level – some of whom have been working with Schaeffler for decades.
He wanted this also to be understood as a motivation for other suppliers and called on the companies to integrate themselves more deeply into Schaeffler’s supply chain: “We want to increase the transparency of our processes and make them simpler and our suppliers will also increase their proximity to us and the market.”
By using a special program, the suppliers are to adopt core elements of Schaeffler’s production system. This is not just a matter of improving the cost situation. “We also encourage innovation at our partner companies. This can lead to new business opportunities, improvements, and closer collaboration,” said Mr. Schick.
