Full Inox Weld-Immune sensors

New inductive sensors with magnetic-field resistance for welding cell applications.

Full Inox Weld-Immune sensors
A new series of Weld-Immune sensors with NPN polarity is now available from Contrinex alongside existing PNP types. As a result, this sensor family is ready not only for welding systems with positive logic (sink current; PNP) but also those with negative logic (source current; NPN).

The Weld-Immune range of inductive sensors is exceptionally well adapted to the harsh environment of welding applications. Patented suppression-circuit technology ensures optimum detection sensitivity and immunity to magnetic interference, in particular from medium-frequency fields (current up to 15 kA).

Condet® technology, which is used in all Contrinex’s Full Inox sensors, ensures long sensor life and high reliability, even when impact damage to the ferrite is severe. Sensitivity is unaffected by welding spatter, metal dust or chips. Connection is possible by M8 or M12 connector, cable or pigtail.

Contrinex Weld-Immune sensors feature an exceptionally rugged one-piece, stainless-steel housing in size M8, M12 or M18. The PNP series also includes size M30. The housing resists welding spatter and any build-up is easy to remove cleanly, without damaging the sensor.

Designed for embeddable mounting, these sensors offer long operating distances (up to 16 mm for M30 type) with factor 1 on steel and aluminum. As a result, mounting is possible at a greater and safer distance from any moving target, further reducing the risk of mechanical damage and replacement costs.

Due to their exceptionally robust construction and special electronic design, these sensors are particularly suitable for automated welding robot cells. They are used most frequently in the automotive industry, where they significantly reduce downtime in production.
