Only stop of the Japanese delegation in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg. Japanese Deputy Economics Minister visits IDS
As part of his trip to Germany, the Japanese Deputy Economics Minister Hirofumi Takinami visited the industrial camera manufacturer IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH in Obersulm at the beginning of April. The internationally operating company is one of the market leaders in the industrial image processing industry. The IDS headquarters in Obersulm, Germany is both a development and production site.
Jan Hartmann, son of company founder Jürgen Hartmann, gave the group insights into the portfolio and development of IDS from a two-man operation to an internationally successful high-tech company. The application spectrum of the USB, GigE and vision app-based industrial cameras developed and produced by IDS covers multiple non-industrial and industrial sectors in the field of equipment, plant and mechanical engineering.
The representative of the Japanese Ministry of Economic Affairs and Trade was impressed by how IDS, as a medium-sized company, can keep up with the high standards of large corporations and is very committed to the well-being of its employees. He also praised the cleanliness and high quality standards of IDS.
He was accompanied by a delegation from the Japanese Trade Policy Bureau, Tetsuya Kimura (Japanese Consul General in Munich), Hidehiko Kaneko (Consul) and Dr. Andreas Schumm (Managing Director of the Heilbronn-Franken Economic Region). IDS was the only stop in Baden-Württemberg before the Japanese delegation travelled on to Bremen and the Hannover Messe.
The state economic development agency "Baden-Württemberg International" organized and accompanied the visit. Their representative Mrs. Beate Ando explained after the delegation's stay in the area: "The Vice Minister of Economic Affairs was very impressed by the region and the company and mentioned this at a major business symposium at the Hannover Messe.” Ando announced a visit of the IDS branch in Tokyo together with Prime Minister of Baden-Württemberg Winfried Kretschmann during his visit to Japan this summer.
