SIL2 / SIL3 - The safety level for mobile vehicles

Safety first! This applies to mobile vehicles, in particular automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). These are vehicles where there is no direct human supervision. In order to protect the environment, people and machines, and to minimise dangerous moments caused by malfunctions, the operation of these vehicles requires a range of sensor technology. Sensors with ATEX certification and SIL2/PLd certificate

Don't go airborne, but better safe than sorry if your application or its environment is at risk of explosion. TWK introduces a new safety encoder for explosion protection according to ATEX, Zone 1 / 21. Additionally with certificate for functional safety SIL2 / Performance Level d. There are many different applications. Simple and complex. Inexpensive and expensive. Non-hazardous and hazardous. Some of them are even explosive. Safety encoder with ultra-compact dimensions

With the TRK38, TWK introduces an ultra-compact single-turn magnetic encoder developed with safety-oriented applications in mind. With a diameter of only 38 mm and a length of also 38 mm, the sensor is suitable for mounting in confined installation spaces. The safety level is high: the safety encoder detects position and speed and fulfils the requirements of SIL 2 (IEC 61508) and PL d (EN 13849). The safety-related signals are transmitted via a certified EtherCAT FSoE interface.

New TBN/TRN-S4 Series with SIL2 certification

The TBN/TRN-S4 Series has been awarded SIL2 certification by TÜV, thus meeting the requirements for use in safety-related applications. TWK's proven safety series of magnetic encoders is expanded with the TBN/TRN-S4 series, which features increased resolution in the single-turn range (model TBN) and a variety of different applications. The resolution of the sensor system can be up to 16-bits. The detection of the multiturn part, i.e. the number of revolutions (max.12-bit), is done by an absolute multiturn gear (model TRN). This model series is an all-round talent. It covers the entire spectrum, from large and robust to miniature versions, which can be used in areas that do not require extremely high standards for environmental influences and must be cost-effective.

TÜV-certified PROFIsafe inclinometer

The model NBT/S3 PROFIsafe inclinometer from TWK-ELEKTRONIK has now been certified by TÜV according to the EN61508 and ISO13849 standards.

Incremental encoders deliverable in 24 hours

TWK has added the FOI series of incremental encoders to its range of magnetic encoders. An outstanding feature of the FOI series is its fast delivery turnaround time.
