Safe and Secure with norelem’s new Security Hinge Switches
Operational safety is crucial around industrial equipment and machinery. This is especially the case around pivoting safety doors, hatches and hoods, which need to be closed to ensure the safe usage and security of machines.
Now, norelem offers flexible and easy to mount security hinge switches to safeguard machinery operators during their work.Design engineers can now choose from 16 different versions of security hinge switches from the leading standard components specialist. The range also includes a version with long hinge halves, which are particularly suited for use on transparent safety doors.
Switches are optionally available with a line or plug connection and the switching angle is adjustable over the entire working range. The status monitoring of the security equipment which informs the users of the hinge’s open or closed position is carried out directly in the hinge.
“When working in industrial settings, we understand that machinery can be volatile and highly dangerous. Our security hinge switches minimise the dangers associated with machinery thanks to their clever status monitoring functionality,” said Marcus Schneck, CEO of norelem.
“To meet safe machinery operation standards the security hinge switches are also designed to be tamper proof and are built to last with hard wearing materials.”
The switches are suitable for use in a variety of applications and sectors, such as special machine construction, the electronics industry, packaging machines and laboratory testing, amongst others. To provide added strength and robustness, switches are housed in die-cast zinc, while a plastic housing lid and plastic covering caps prevents ingress of dirt and dust.
Installation aids are provided with the switches to assist with alignment on doors and posts. This enables the switch elements to be quickly and easily mounted on conventional aluminium profiles.
