Sensolus Launches Next Generation Tracking Devices in Cooperation with Jorjin Technologies Inc. and STMicroelectronics

Ghent, Belgium, Taipei, Taiwan, and Labège, France, June 6, 2018 – To launch its next-generation Stickntrack tracking devices, Sensolus, an IoT company from Ghent, Belgium, is utilizing technology and expertise from Jorjin Technologies Inc., a Taiwanese company with 20 years of experience building IoT modules, and STMicroelectronics, a leading semiconductor manufacturer.

Sensolus Launches Next Generation Tracking Devices in Cooperation with Jorjin Technologies Inc. and STMicroelectronics
Sensolus provides end-to-end Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) tracking solutions for companies in various industries, bringing visibility to their supply chain and asset monitoring processes with a combination of advanced tracking devices, long range and low energy connectivity through the Sigfox global Low-Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN), and smart cloud algorithms. In doing so, Sensolus aims to continuously provide the most reliable and scalable end-to-end tracking solutions for its clients, for both outdoor and indoor applications

Aligned with the current global expansion, evolution, and adoption of the IoT, the new Stickntrack devices are smaller, more power efficient, and with Sigfox™ multi-region certified to leverage Sigfox™ global network. In order to meet to the growing global demand, including in the Asian market, Sensolus has selected Jorjin Technologies Inc. as its local partner for manufacturing its next generation tracking devices.

Jorjin Technologies Inc., established in Taipei, Taiwan, in 1997, has proven highly innovative and agile when it comes to module building for wireless radio products.

Sensolus’ new tracking devices benefit from the market-leading performance and energy efficiency of STMicroelectronics’ BlueNRG-2 BLE System-on-Chip (SoC) and the S2-LP sub-1GHz RF transceiver. These connectivity devices ensure cost-efficiency, ultra-low-power and scalability, while keeping industrial grade reliability.

The new generation of Stickntrack tracking devices is a result of many years of field experience in low-power networks, combined with state-of-the-art chip technology and expert manufacturing. It enables next generation tracking applications, that are more compact, highly cost-efficient, and reliable while maximizing battery lifetime.

“Having reliable and trusted partners is key in the global strategy of Sensolus. Our platform for global asset management is powered by a next generation of optimized low-power sensors, and we are happy to welcome Jorjin and ST as partners. Both come with rich experience and a future-oriented vision on Industrial Internet of Things, which is 100% aligned with the true values of Sensolus”, said Kristoff Van Rattinghe, CEO at Sensolus.

“We are very excited by the business prospect of Sensolus GPS tracker.” said Tom Liang, Jorjin Technologies chairman & founder. “The combination of Sensolus’ asset management expertise, Sigfox’s global network coverage and the high-performance hardware resulting from the association of ST’s low-power platform with Jorjin’s long standing RF experience, has resulted in a state-of-the-art solution optimized for the needs of global logistics in the next decade.”

“In recent years, we have concentrated on developing a world-class ultra-low-power Bluetooth low energy and sub-1GHz portfolio. Choosing an ST foundation for Sensolus’ innovative IoT solution based on the S2-LP (Sigfox sub-1GHz RF transceiver) and BLUENRG-248 (BLE System-on-Chip) is a solid validation of those efforts.” said Benedetto Vigna, president of STMicroelectronics‘ Analog, MEMS and Sensors Group.

“This collaboration between key actors of our ecosystem is our top priority. Powered by this ecosystem, Sensolus is now providing a unique and optimized tracking solution and demonstrates that Sigfox technology and global network is bringing great new opportunities to support the Logistic and Supply chain market.” said Raouti Chehih, Chief Adoption Officer at Sigfox.
