FPT TEAMS UP WITH STEYR AND AGDW AT INTERFORST 2026 TO ENGAGE FUTURE GENERATIONS INTO FOREST MANAGEMENT

FPT is a guest at the STEYR booth at Interforst 2026, the international trade fair for forestry and forest technology taking place in Munich, Germany, from October 15-18, 2026, where it is exhibiting a model from the renowned NEF range: the N45.

The reason for this presence is twofold. First, FPT is the engine supplier for the entire range of STEYR tractors on display, which includes the Plus, Expert CVT, Profi CVT, Impuls CVT, and Cervus CVT, all in Forestry version. Secondly, FPT is a partner of STEYR in the Wald Klima-Klasse Initiative, a project created in collaboration with AGDW – Die Waldeigentümer, the German national federation of forest owners. Founded in 1948 and based in Berlin, it defends the interests of approximately 2 million owners of private, municipal, and public-sector forests (who manage approximately 67% of Germany’s forests), and promotes forest care and management, often certified by standards such as the PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification).

The Wald Klima-Klasse Initiative (Forest-Climate-Class) is an environmental education program that introduces students from the fifth grade onwards to ecology and responsible forest management through hands-on outdoor activities.
Learning takes place outside a traditional classroom setting directly in nature under the guidance of professional foresters. Students adopt a local patch of forest, plant young trees, and help care for a small “climate forest” to see how conscious forestry works firsthand. Regional groups – such as the WBV Westallgäu and local schools – coordinate the actual tree-planting and field days on-site.

Building on the highly successful planting initiative carried out in 2025, the project is advancing into its next stage in 2026, focused on a sustained long-term rollout and expanded adoption throughout Germany. This initiative highlights how collaboration across forestry, industry, and education can foster climate-resilient woodlands, while encouraging younger generations to get involved in conscious and responsible forest management and conservation.

“In this context, where young people are directly involved in the preservation and restoration of forest heritage, FPT and its engines powering STEYR forestry tractors play an important supporting role in the activities,”
says Egle Panzella, Brand Equity and Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at FPT. “They demonstrate that efficient state-of-the-art engines are capable of integrating harmoniously into a project with big goals, but which remains human in scale. Creating a shared culture of care for the environment is the ultimate goal of the project, and a mission that is particularly close to our Brand.”

“Forestry professionals require tractors that combine robustness, operator comfort, versatility, and productivity. Interforst provides the ideal platform to showcase how STEYR solutions support modern forestry operations, and reinforce STEYR’s position as a trusted specialist partner for professional forestry customers,” says Jona Hormann, Key Account Manager, Municipality and Forestry at STEYR.

THE NEF SERIES: THE VERSATILITY BENCHMARK IN MID-RANGE APPLICATIONS
Engineered for the most demanding agricultural machinery tasks, the NEF series showcases the Brand’s commitment to technological excellence. Over 2 million engines have been built since 2001 for use across a wide range of farming applications, including tractors, combine harvesters, specialty fruit equipment, and windrowers.

Delivering outstanding power, torque, fuel economy, and long-term reliability, the NEF family offers exceptional versatility. Showcased at STEYR's booth in its 4-cylinder configuration (N45), the engine features extensive customization possibilities to meet exact customer requirements.

Leveraging FPT’s groundbreaking EGR-free combustion and proprietary, patented HI-eSCR2 post-treatment system, the NEF series sets the productivity standard for mid-range uses, ensuring optimal combustion efficiency, low fuel consumption and high power density.
