Faiveley Transport wins one of its largest contracts to supply the braking system for 489 freight locomotives in China
Despite strong competition, Faiveley has won a contract to supply 489 braking systems to Datong Locomotives, for a value of over €60 million. Delivery will begin at the end of 2009 and will continue over the following three years. This project will require complex multi-site co-ordination between two local sites, Qingdao Faiveley SRI Rail Brake Co. Ltd. and Shijiazhuang Jiaxiang Precision Machinery Co. Ltd and three European sites, Amiens, Piassasco and Landskrona.
Faiveley Transport will deliver innovative technology that provides greater flexibility since the operator will be able to join the locomotives to other trains that are equipped with different systems.
Faiveley has 7 industrial and commercial sites in China and winning this particularly significant contract demonstrates Faiveley’s long term commitment to developing in China, and other emerging markets.
