The Coradia iLint, world's first hydrogen fuel cell passenger train, manufactured by Alstom, world leader in green and smart mobility, has made its debut on the Railway Research Institute's test track in Żmigród, near Wrocław in Poland. Over two days, Alstom teams are presenting the train to a variety of local stakeholders, including regional operators, transport authorities, government decision-makers and leading media, in order to highlight the potential of the Coradia iLint for sustainable transport in Poland. The showcase comes in the wake of the announcement of Poland’s National Recovery Plan, which includes provisions for the introduction of thirty low-emission trains for Polish regional operators by 2026.
The new R&S RTS radar test system from Rohde & Schwarz simulates driving scenarios for testing radar based advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and radar sensors used in autonomously driving cars (AD) entirely over the air. The test solution consists of the new R&S AREG800A automotive radar echo generator as a backend and the R&S QAT100 antenna array as a frontend. Laterally moving objects, i.e. objects approaching from the side, are currently simulated by mechanically moving antennas. The R&S RTS replaces the mechanical movement by electronically switching individual antennas in the frontend on and off. Even objects moving laterally to the car at very high speed can be simulated reliably and reproducibly. The R&S RTS is able to simulate the radial velocity (Doppler shift) and the size (radar cross section) of objects at user configurable – including very small – ranges. Countless objects can be represented by cascading multiple R&S AREG800A backends. The R&S RTS moves tests currently performed on the road to the lab. This allows early error detection and a significant reduction in costs.
From conditioning the air you breathe on an airplane to keeping your car’s engine, computer, and other electronics cool, heat exchangers perform important functions and are ever-present in our daily lives.
Honeywell (Nasdaq: HON) announced the Electrigrip dielectric boots, which provide primary protection for voltages up to 20kV combined with comfort, flexibility and performance.
For cellular device manufacturers, 5G NR means a new complexity with a high impact on the development process. Advanced RF interfaces with antenna arrays operating in the mmWave range are making test setups and procedures more challenging. With Mobile World Congress returning to Barcelona in June 2021, Rohde & Schwarz is showcasing the latest highlights of its cellular device testing portfolio, which cover all stages from early 5G NR device design phases to conformance testing to device manufacturing.
