Where hygienic cleanliness is required, the cleaning process must be very precise. Particularly in industrial warehouses and factories, where autonomous transport systems are increasingly being used, floor surfaces must be clean to allow the AGVs and AMRs to drive without any problems. With the introduction of robotics in facility cleaning, Dunkermotoren and Cleanfix Reinigungssysteme AG are together setting new standards.
Ruland offers beam couplings for robotic applications. The beam couplings are machined from a single piece of aluminium or stainless steel with several spiral cuts for higher torsional stiffness and torque capabilities than single beam couplings.
The new 72DL PLUS ultrasonic thickness gauge delivers precision thickness measurements at high speed in a portable, easy-to-use device. With fast scanning, advanced algorithms and Olympus’ lowest-ever minimum thickness capability, the gauge can measure the thickness of very thin layers for challenging applications across industries.
Vitesco Technologies uses state-of-the-art green lasers from TRUMPF for energy-saving welding of copper. Due to electrification in the drive, copper welding is currently a key manufacturing process. Green laser systems are energy-efficient and also reduce manufacturing effort. Copper welding with green lasers is already being used in a current electronics series project for the BMW group.
Kemi Shipping Oy, owned by Finnish Metsä Group, has ordered eight award-winning Konecranes E-VER fully electric forklifts including full service contracts for their operations in the Port of Kemi. Highly impressed with an E-VER delivered early in 2022, the Finnish logistics company is strengthening operations with an additional order. The order was received in June 2022 and will be delivered in the first half of 2023.
New accessories for high-pressure measurement: Under the model designation HPAC, WIKA now has a series of connection adapters and couplings in its portfolio that are designed for applications with pressures from 15,000 psi to 60,000 psi (1,034 bar to 4,136 bar).
Factories and manufacturing sites need to prevent anomalies in machinery and equipment to minimize downtime. Productivity can be raised by predicting problems and performing maintenance preemptively, instead of reacting only after breakdowns have occurred. To facilitate this type of predictive maintenance, TDK has developed i3 Micro Module—the world’s first ultracompact sensor module featuring embedded edge AI.
ABB announced today that Microsoft has joined its Energy Efficiency Movement. Launched in March 2021 by ABB, the #energyefficiencymovement is a multi-stakeholder initiative to raise awareness and spur action to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions to combat climate change. Companies are invited to join the movement and make a public pledge as a way of inspiring others to take action. Microsoft represents one of the largest corporate partners to join the initiative to date.
GE Research and GE Renewable Energy are partnering with Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) on a $1.75M U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Solar Energy Technology Office (SETO) project to design, build, and field test a 400kWh, 2-hour Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to enable and support Behind the Meter (BTM) PV Solar integration into the grid.
