HIWIN presents ISO-2 certified toothed belt axes for clean rooms
These timing belt axes are now ISO Class 2 cleanroom certified – ideal for production processes that require the highest levels of cleanliness and minimal particle concentration.

We have now also had our toothed belt axes certified to ISO Class 2 cleanroom standards. This once again demonstrates our ability to respond individually to demanding production processes. For companies where even the slightest contamination can significantly impair the manufacturing process, classification in ISO classes is of crucial importance. It indicates the particle concentration in the environment.
Drive technology in clean rooms, as used in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and medical technology, places the highest demands on cleanliness, material selection, and design principles. With the certification of our toothed belt axes by the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA) in accordance with ISO class 2, we are once again underlining our commitment and expertise in meeting the demanding requirements of modern industry. "We have already implemented successful customer projects with our linear motor axis. We are delighted to now also be able to offer our toothed belt axes for cleanroom applications," says the product manager for linear axes at HIWIN.
But even when things get dirty, we serve our customers confidently with precision drive technology – and we have already proven this in practice. In these environments, the drive technology must have closed, dust-tight housings and particularly resistant seals. This prevents contamination of the mechanics under difficult production conditions and extends the service life of the components. “We work with our customers to develop solutions for every environment, which we tailor to their individual requirements – whether in clean rooms or dirty rooms. This requires a great deal of design work, but our project department has mastered every challenge so far,” says Werner Mäurer, Managing Director of HIWIN GmbH, with a wink.
