Awarded by Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), part of Daimler Truck AG, it recognizes the outstanding value FPT Industrial delivers as a strategic supplier. This recognition came due to FPT Industrial’s role in delivering technical solutions that ensure compliance with regulations across domestic and international markets. Since the partnership commenced, FPT Industrial has delivered over 650,000 F1C engines to Mitsubishi FUSO; these power the Canter, a key model in the brand’s vehicle line-up and an international best-seller in the light-duty truck segment sold in over 70 countries, as well as the Rosa minibuses.

The F1C is the flagship of FPT Industrial’s F1 engine family, designed for light commercial vehicles and minibuses, with over 5 million units sold since 2003. FPT Industrial is the only manufacturer to offer two engines in this segment: alongside the 3-liter F1C – also available in a natural gas version – is the 2.3-liter F1A.
The F1C engine is the culmination of the brand’s experience and heritage. Since its launch on the market, it has been conceived as a global engine – produced in FPT Industrial plants located in Europe, South America and Asia – for a global customer base. The strength of the F1C lies in its “industrial DNA”, which makes it a unique model in the market, as all other main engines in its category originate from passenger car derivatives.
With over two million units sold since 2003 and compliant with every emission standard, the F1C boasts best-in-class performance, with power outputs up to 152 kW (207 hp), together with the best transient response in its category thanks to electronically controlled variable geometry turbochargers (eVGT), delivering up to 470 Nm of torque at 1,400 rpm/min. Available for both transverse and longitudinal installation, the F1C can be customized on request, with options including radiator, air filter, oil pan, dipstick, alternator, and other components. The ATS system with dual SCR, optimized for urban missions with reduced load and low exhaust temperatures, as well as for suburban use, enables lower CO2 emissions.
