Magna-Power Expands TS Series with High-Current DC Power Supply Models
Magna-Power expands its TS Series with four new high-current DC power supply models, reaching up to 10,000 Adc to support industrial heating, superconducting magnets, and water treatment technologies.

Magna-Power Electronics has announces the addition of four new high-current models to its popular TS Series product line. The new models offering single outputs of 2,500, 5,000, 7,500, and 10,000 Adc reinforce Magna-Power’s commitment to the high-current applications. Current can be scaled further into the hundreds of kiloamps through high-performance master-slaving, with complete turn-key systems available directly from Magna-Power.
The expanded TS Series now encompasses 279 different models from 5 kW to 100 kW, featuring maximum output currents up to 10,000 Adc per unit and voltage ratings up to 6,000 Vdc, making it Magna-Power’s most versatile product line. These newly introduced base models include:
- TSD8-2500: 0–8 Vdc, 0–2,500 Adc, 20 kW, 4U
- TSD8-5000: 0–8 Vdc, 0–5,000 Adc, 40 kW, 8U
- TSD8-7500: 0–8 Vdc, 0–7,500 Adc, 60 kW, 12U
- TSD8-10000: 0–8 Vdc, 0–10,000 Adc, 80 kW, 16U
All TS Series models ship with standard 19-inch rack-mount kits. For added convenience, the higher-power 8U, 12U, and 16U enclosures include removable casters and expanded rear protections for standalone operation without a rack enclosure.
These high-current models address critical demands in applications such as high-power superconducting magnets and transmission wires, industrial heating, ion implantation, beam sources, and electrocoagulation for water treatment. To optimize thermal management, TS Series models are air-cooled by default, with an optional Water Cooled (+WC) configuration available. This well-established optional water cooling method integrates microchannel copper heatsinks and copper-pipe-wound magnetic components, along with a built-in solenoid to manage water flow and prevent condensation.
To simplify high-current connections, traditionally requiring custom copper buswork, Magna-Power offers ultra-flexible DC power cables that can carry up to 1,000 Adc each, with 6,000 Vdc isolation, temperature ratings above 150°C, and abrasion-resistant sleeving. Multiple cables can be used in parallel to provide a turnkey, reliable, and competitively priced solution for high-current connections.
The new TS Series builds on decades of high-power innovation, leveraging Magna-Power’s robust current-fed power processing topology and advanced thermal management solutions.
The TS Series supports the SCPI command set for seamless control from virtually any programming language, including Python. An IVI driver is also provided for the Visual Studio environment, and dedicated drivers are available for National Instruments LabVIEW™ and LabWindows™.
The TS Series products provide comprehensive protection features, including a dedicated interlock emergency stop input, programmable over-voltage and over-current trip settings, thermal protection, fuse fault, AC line fault, and analog input programming line fault. When in standby or fault condition, a three-phase contactor mechanically disconnects the power supply from the AC mains, ensuring safe operation.
Like all Magna-Power products, the TS Series is designed and manufactured at the company’s vertically integrated, purpose-built factory in Flemington, New Jersey. The newly expanded TS Series is available now.
