  • The Spanish multinational has appointed Meaghan Ferris and Gabriel Ortiz to support the company’s strategic growth initiatives and applications in the industrial sectors across the Americas
  • The Meltio website, meltio3d.com, includes a new section, called Powered by Meltio, Made in the USA, where its patented wire-laser metal Additive Manufacturing solutions integrated into custom-made industrial systems are shown. This new online section will be only visible to people accessing from the US
  • In the coming weeks, Meltio will announce new reference site locations in the United States. There, many industrial customers can observe its cutting-edge wire-laser metal 3D printing technology in operation

The strategy in the US is built on three pillars: reinforcement of the sales team with the appointment of Meaghan Ferris and Gabriel Ortiz; the publication of a new section Powered by Meltio, Made in the USA, and the upcoming announcement of a series of reference sites locations, where customers will showcase their metal parts printed with Meltio's different systems.

Firstly, the appointment of Meaghan Ferris and Gabriel Ortiz as experienced professionals in Additive Manufacturing to reinforce the Meltio team in the United States. In their roles, both will support the company’s growing metal 3D printing business and customer base. Meaghan assumes the position of Commercial Vice President and Gabriel, Channel Manager in the USA.

These appointments come on the heels of the successful adoption of the new Meltio M600 metal 3D printer, which was launched globally in March 2024, not only in the United States but also across the international industrial sector. This new system allows the production of Aluminum and Copper parts, among other metallic materials such as Stainless Steel, Titanium, Inconel, Invar, and many others.

Meaghan Ferris will take on the role of Commercial Vice President and will be in charge of the states located in the East of the Mississippi, while Gabriel Ortiz will be the Channel Manager for the states located in the West of the Mississippi.

Meaghan and Gabriel reinforce the sales team to support the significant increase in demand for Meltio's solutions in the automotive, defense, mining, oil and gas, marine, and education sectors, among many others. Meltio's metal AM solutions enable industries to benefit from ease of use, increased productivity in production lines, reliable manufacturing and repair of fully dense metal parts, cost reductions, and exceptional flexibility in industrial manufacturing operations around the clock, 365 days a year.

Meaghan Ferris brings valuable experience in Additive Manufacturing, with a track record of success in his prior position at the HP AM division in the United States.

“I am intentionally positioning us as an advanced manufacturing solution for metals vs. 3D printing and using the language use to give us way more credibility than 3D printing companies. I'm happy to share that I've embarked on a new journey with Meltio, a trailblazing company leading the charge in advanced metal manufacturing solutions. Joining forces with Meltio’s incredible team and my esteemed colleague Emilio Juárez - Sales Director at Meltio -, whose leadership and expertise I’ve long admired, is a true privilege.”

And adds: “Meltio's solutions for advanced manufacturing of metal assemblies are extraordinary. Unlike other options in the market, we manufacture many different alloys, build all types of form factors, and produce a wide range of part sizes (1 kg – 100 kg). Best of all? Redesigning assemblies is not a prerequisite to integrating this manufacturing process into your supply chain. The process change is a small incremental step that digitizes and automates metal assembly. The metal manufacturing market is massive and riddled with challenges and vulnerabilities. We create value for our customers by enabling them to address their pain points and rapidly improve their business. Looking forward to being a part of this extremely talented and passionate Meltio team and contributing to their continued success. Connect with me if you want to learn more and explore how Meltio can empower your metal manufacturing goals”.

Gabriel Ortiz, a US Navy Veteran, brings both discipline and flexibility in supporting partners and end customers, and will undoubtedly help Meltio enhance its expertise to serve the military industry. He gives the Meltio team a strong relationship-building background and has a successful track record across the Americas. He has over 25 years of experience at Panasonic Factory Automation, Henkel Electronics, and other companies, catering to manufacturing environments in verticals such as automotive, electronics, electrical, medical… etc. Over the past five years in the additive industry, has led him to great achievements at companies such as Continental Automotive, Eaton, and Toyota, among many others.

Gabriel Ortiz states: “I am extremely excited to join the Meltio family, at a critical point in the life of its Wire Laser Metal technology, as it transitions into its rightful place as a manufacturing process that will bring so much to the industry in terms of efficiencies and cost savings. I am confident and committed to strengthening Meltio's presence, support, and service in the USA and Canada, through collaboration with the best channel partners in the industry beside us. It is all coming together at the right time in the right place, with the launch of our blue laser technology, and the know-how I am certain to bring when it comes to scaling the resources in the region.”

Ángel Llavero López de Villalta, CEO at Meltio, comments with great satisfaction about these new appointments in the United States market: “I am delighted to welcome Meaghan and Gabriel to our team at Meltio to reinforce our presence in the United States. Each brings a unique blend of expertise, vision, and proven background in 3D printing technology that is impressive and essential for our industrial customers. Since coming to market in 2019, Meltio has been a leader in the metal additive manufacturing industry and has greatly influenced the industry’s move to larger systems that can achieve high-volume, scalable production of reliable metal parts in different sectors such as automotive, mining, aerospace, defense, oil and gas and many others” and he adds “Meaghan and Gabriel's contributions will be very relevant in accelerating our mission to deliver unparalleled value, innovation, and quality to our clients in the US,” he adds.

Secondly, the Meltio website, meltio3d.com, includes a new section, called Powered by Meltio, Made in the USA, where its patented wire-laser metal Additive Manufacturing solutions integrated into custom-made industrial systems are shown. This new online section will be only visible to people accessing from the US.

In the coming weeks, Meltio will also announce new reference site locations in the United States. There, many industrial customers can observe its cutting-edge wire-laser metal 3D printing technology in operation.

All these pillar maintains the Meltio value for its industrial customers. The Meltio systems -Meltio M600 and Meltio 450 metal 3D printers; Robot and CNC Engine integrations and Robot Cell- are all designed to solve problems of long lead times, costly stock-keeping, and increasingly fragile supply chains, thanks to its unique wire-laser metal 3D printing technology. These systems increases productivity and reduces manufacturing costs, brings new materials to the table, and most importantly is ready to perform 24/7 with minimal operator interaction for autonomous production.
