Murata's Development Process Certified to Highest ISO 26262 Automotive Functional Safety Standards

Murata has announce that it has obtained ISO 26262 Automotive Functional Safety certification for its development process from the third-party German certifier SGS-TÜV Saar GmbH on February 13, 2024.

The certification affirms that Murata’s development process for hardware, software, and integrated systems aligns with the highest level of functional safety as defined by ISO 26262 – Automotive Safety Integrity Level D (ASIL D). With this certification, products, such as communication modules and sensors, that adhere to this rigorous development process will guarantee the highest level of functional safety.

With the increasing demand for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) in recent years and elevated autonomous operation, there has been a corresponding need for enhanced safety performance in vehicles.
