SOUTHCO ACQUIRES COUNTERBALANCE CORPORATION

Effective today, Southco, Inc. has completed the acquisition of CounterBalance Corporation. CounterBalance is a US based manufacturer of modular torsion spring systems. Southco is the global leader in the design and manufacturing of Engineered Access Hardware Solutions.

CounterBalance provides position control solutions that are designed to eliminate the effort required to lift lids, covers, hatches and countertops. CounterBalance solutions are found on a variety of equipment and countertop applications across diverse industries, including medical, industrial, military, education, hospitality and food service.

CounterBalance’s design and manufacturing capabilities will strengthen Southco’s global Positioning Technology product portfolio by expanding the performance to cover a wider variety of applications with higher load forces. These solutions will provide new opportunities to add value to Southco’s extensive customer base in a wide variety of industries and applications.
