Antaira Ethernet Extender Leverages High-Speed VDSL2 for Long Distance Industrial Network Connectivity

Antaira Technologies has released its next-generation IVC-4011-T-V2 Industrial Ethernet Extender for the cost-efficient upgrading of existing xDSL-infrastructure analog cabling up to 3937 feet (1.2 kilometers).

Antaira Ethernet Extender Leverages High-Speed VDSL2 for Long Distance Industrial Network Connectivity

Used in pairs, this simple yet powerful device increases network connectivity while delivering 200/100Mbps asymmetric backbone bandwidth. The IVC-4011-T-V2 makes it possible to link two LANs located nearly a mile apart over a long distance point-to-point LAN connection. To do so, one extender is set to Master (CO mode) to link to the backbone, and the other set to Slave (CPE mode) as the long reach data receiver.

An extender set to slave mode can be used with IP cameras and other network devices to build a point-to-multipoint solution. No software configuration is needed, so users simply attach the cables, set the CPE/CO modes and turn the power on.

The IVC-4011-T-V2 applies an advanced switching architecture offering four RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet ports, along with the added flexibility of an asymmetric or symmetric Ethernet-over-VDSL connection. Depending on network requirements, either an RJ11 or BNC port can be used to leverage the VDSL2 (Very High-Bit-Rate Digital Subscriber Line 2) G.993.2 connection. This embedded port design lets the user establish a network connection using either an existing coaxial cable or existing Twisted-pair telephone wires (AWG-24 or better). LED indicators show VDSL2 status, CPE/CO setting, speed and power for faster commissioning and field troubleshooting.

Ruggedly engineered for indoor and outdoor installations, the IVC-4011-T-V2 is housed in an IP30-rated metal enclosure and can handle extreme temperatures of -40° to 167°F (-40° to 75°C), qualifying it for reliable use in curbside traffic control cabinets, among other challenging environments. It also provides a high level of immunity to electromagnetic interference while supporting 6000 VDC Ethernet ESD protection, which are standard requirements for use in industrial plants and indoor security systems.

Antaira backs the new IVC-4011-T-V2 with a five-year warranty.
