NSK offers DIN standard ball screws from stock
NSK has developed a new series of standard ball screws that fully conform to the DIN international standard. This range of ball screws will be available from stock when they are officially launched into the European market in February 2016, which will minimise lead-times for many OEM customers. In addition to offering made-to-order ball screws to meet various customer demands, NSK was one of the first companies to introduce standard, off-the-shelf stock ball screws to the market.
Designed for compactness and dimensional compatibility, the ball nut dimensions of the new range are manufactured in accordance with DIN69051-5. Potential applications for these ball screws are wide ranging, and include such applications as machine tools, automotive manufacturing equipment and semiconductor manufacturing equipment. In total, NSK will offer 11 different models and 33 types of DIN standard ball screws from stock, having shaft diameters ranging from 20 to 50 mm, leads from 5 to 20 mm and total lengths ranging from 700 up to 2800 mm. With regard to specification, NSK DIN standard ball screws offers a DN maximum value of 150,000 and 160,000, a precision class of JIS Cp5 (better than ISO P5), P (oversize ball) preload type, and either end deflector type or bridge deflector type circulation methods.
The major benefit to OEMs of stock availability is a short lead-time. By leaving the shaft end un-machined, NSK has the capability to finish-machine the shaft end locally in line with customer specific requirements. To further help OEMs reduce time-to-market. NSK provides the high performance X1 seal, which is popular for machine tools, and the NSK K1 lubrication unit as optional parts. In this way, NSK is able to provide additional functionality to the ball screws in order to meet the needs of customer applications. High performance X1 seal: Double functions with highly dustproof and superior grease retention NSK K1 lubrication unit: Self-lubrication for longer maintenance-free performance. NSK can also offer a range of high precision ball screw support bearings and Linear Guides from stock, along with other optional components such as seals and lubrication units.
