Schlegel Invests In Spain

Global seals company, Schlegel International, has recently undertaken a major investment in their Spanish factory at Terrassa near Barcelona. The company has installed 4 new production lines to manufacture its wide range of pile weatherseals for sliding doors and windows. It has created 17 additional jobs in Spain. The company also manufactures Q-Lon foam weatherseals, the World’s best seal for opening doors & windows.

Peter Santo, Schlegel’s Chief Executive Officer commented, “When we were looking to consolidate our European production base we chose to grow our presence in Spain. Our team at Terrassa were keen to take it on as we are looking to grow our business across Southern Europe. We are creating jobs in Spain and we’re sure we can persuade the Spanish door and window industry to relook at our extensive range of sealing products.

“We’ve expanded our capacity from 110 million meters per year to 160 million metres per year in Terrassa. In the long term we see new growth opportunities in new sectors and new markets for our innovative range of products.”

Schlegel produces seals for almost every application. Products are available for weather protection, thermal insulation and acoustic sealing. Schlegel’s seals can be used in aluminium, timber and PVCu framed windows and doors, both sliding and opening operations. Products are available to suit applications in housing, schools, hospitals and commercial buildings.
