LR-Z Series
This laser sensor stands out for its detection stability, simple operation and robustness.
Detection with reflective sensors is often made difficult by a variety of influencing factors, including target colour, material, surface finish, environment and — most of all — background distance. The LR-Z laser sensor series is built with a number of features that solve these issues. To start, they have an internal control function that monitors and automatically adjusts their sensitivity by a factor of up to x350,000.This control is made possible by the combination of a CMOS receiving element and a laser light source that allows stable detection regardless of colour, reflection or angle. Secondly, the LR-Z Series is the only range on the market to feature both a background suppression function (BGS) and a foreground suppression function (FGS) to reduce disturbances caused by the detection environment to a minimum. Lastly, the DATUM function determines the detection conditions to allow detection of any target regardless of surface or shape variations even when the angle of incidence is high (80°). As a result, detection on uneven surfaces and dark or reflective targets is possible.
Thanks to all these features, the LR-Z Series offers the highest detection stability of any self-contained sensor of its class.
The new LR-Z Series is distinguished by its simple one-touch setup. The sensitivity and detection mode are easily determined via the digital 7-segment display.
Furthermore, the detection values are displayed to make identifying detection issues much easier. The display shows a value of '0' when a target is not detected and '999' when a target is detected.
Another new feature is the large, easy-to-see indicator that allows at-a-glance identification of unstable detection, even from a long distance.
The LR-Z Series is also distinguished by its ruggedness. Its SUS316L stainless steel body withstands shocks of up to 100 G, reducing the risks of damage — even from overtightening or external impacts — to a minimum. Its sealed enclosure with IP68/69K and NEMA 4X, 6P, 13 (NEMA250) ratings resists oils, acids and alkaline detergents. As a result, it can be installed near targets in harsh environments without the need for protective guards.
These characteristics make the LR-Z Series an effective presence/absence sensor for use in the food processing, micromechanics and metalworking industries in addition to conventional automation applications.
