Experience Moxa’s IP-based Smart Rail Solutions for Onboard and Wayside
Effective wayside monitoring systems increase operational reliability and sustainability while also reducing cost, and IP-based technologies are an efficient tool for remotely maintaining and collecting real-time information on railway infrastructures.Moxa’s ioPAC 8500 series are modular RTU controllers made to specification that collect and record real-time measurements from sensors to monitor the railway equipment status in preventive trackside asset management systems. An optional cellular module connects the RTU with mobile networks and guarantees the availability to the asset management system at any time, saving additional external equipment.
High-bandwidth Ethernet train backbones are the preferred method for implementing applications such as passenger entertainment systems and high-quality video surveillance. Moxa's TN-5510 series EN50155 Ethernet switches include Gigabit bandwidth to provide a high-bandwidth train backbone for the real-time video, voice, and data transmissions needed for passenger entertainment, public address, emergency intercom, and IP surveillance systems. They use M12 and other circular connectors to ensure tight, robust connections, and guarantee reliable operation against environmental disturbances, such as vibration and shock. The switches provide the wide power input range from 12 to 110 VDC that allows the use of the same type of power source around the globe.
Moxa offers complete EN50155 and EN50121 certified solutions that incorporate extensive future-proof features and functions that specifically benefit railway applications. These include modular RTU controllers, Gigabit Ethernet switches, HD video image compact IP cameras, rugged Network Attached Storage systems (NAS), and Ethernet-to-fiber media converters.
