Higher resolution for even greater code reading stability
With the VISOR® Code Reader V20 Standard, SensoPart expands its family of vision sensors with a low-cost version for standard applications requiring a higher image resolution, such as the reading of simple printed barcodes.
Until now, only the Advanced and Professional models of the VISOR® V20 Code Reader came with the high image resolution of 1.5 megapixels (1440 x 1080 pixels) along with additional functions, such as the reading of directly marked codes or optical character recognition (OCR). For those who do not require these extended functions, SensoPart is now offering a highresolution vision sensor with an attractive price-performance ratio, which is able to read printed barcodes and data matrix codes of all industry standards. Thanks to the high-resolution imaging chip, the VISOR® V20 Standard can also be used for applications for which the lower resolution of VISOR® V10 (800 x 600 pixels) is insufficient.
The sensor versions are offered with three different fields of view (wide, medium, narrow) so that the optimum image section can be easily selected for the respective application. This allows for diverse object sizes and detection ranges without a change in lens or mounting position. For example, with the wide field of view, several codes can be detected simultaneously in one large search area, while the narrow image section enables the evaluation of a small code from a long distance.
The integrated target laser (laser class 1) considerably simplifies sensor alignment during setup. Like the other sensor versions from the SensoPart VISOR® V10 and V20 series, the new code reader is housed in a compact, robust all-metal casing (IP 67) with integrated image recording, optics, lighting and signal processing. The sensor supports current interface protocols, such as sFTP, SSH, EtherNet/IP and Profinet Conformance Class B. It is downward compatible with the VISOR® V10 series so that a simple replacement is possible.
For more challenging identification tasks, SensoPart has recently launched a new version of the VISOR® Code Reader with a resolution of 5 megapixels, which considerably expands potential applications.
