VHX-2000
With this new series, Keyence takes another step ahead in the digital microscope market.
The VHX digital microscopes series offers unequalled performances and a unique ease of use. It is outstanding through its 54 million pixels resolution, its depth of field and automated focus even with higher magnification. It provides observations which would be impossible with an optical microscope. Entirely conceived by KEYENCE, the VHX series integrates a lens, a camera and image processing system, for a unique quality of image. The VHX-2000 series brings innovations in terms of performances, convenience of use and automated measurements.
The resolution is increased by 25% thanks to the properties of the blue light. Using short wavelength it is capable of capturing super resolution details on the target surface. The image captured in blue light is superimposed on the traditional image in order to add its captured details. Finally, the result is an identical image, but with a better resolution. Additionally, the red light has reversely a high wavelength. Its great light transmission capacities through a transparent object are used in order to observe areas located under a layer of transparent materials. In the same way, it is a red filter which is fitted.
The VHX-2000 can produce up to 20,000 × 20,000-pixel panoramic image, that is to say 400 million pixels. This means that it expands the viewing area by up to 200 times with high magnification (normal image 1600 X 1200 pixels). This is made possible thanks to the most powerful ultra-high speed automatic image stitching function in the market (stitching 2D). Clicking the image stitching feature button will automatically move the stage and capture the images which are automatically stitched in real time. Thanks to its capacity to produce an image automatically, with this feature it is possible to avoid any improper alignment.
With the VHX-2000, movements are automated In addition to the motorized Z-axis; this microscope is equipped with a motorized X-Y stage which movement can be adjusted via a simple control pad. With the Double’R automatic lens/magnification recognition function (DOUBLE' R), all the X/Y/Z axis adjustments are performed by accurate controls, with which it becomes possible to adjust the movement to the magnification, for a smooth observation. Focus and calibration are performed automatically. Another innovation, the motorized XY stage of the directional observation system is equipped with standard transmission LED illumination. This light causing little illumination irregularity, observation of clear images, whatever the magnification, becomes possible. Beyond transmission illumination, it is also possible to use a LED illumination combined with a lens vertical illumination. Illumination transmission can be adjusted for each type of illumination in order to guarantee an optimal light intensity when performing the observation. As a result there are better contrasts on the parts with beams passing through.
The VHX-2000 series comes with new key measurement features. Any measurement in real time is possible on the screen by simply using the mouse. There are advantages compared to traditional microscope observation, because with the latter it is not possible to accurately determine the size of the target and counting with the naked eye requires much time and efforts. Moreover, a unique measurement standard is set, because the definition of the edge does not depend on the operator's appreciation anymore. The digital microscope offers 19 measurement modes, including 16 basic measurement modes and 3 automated measurement modes. Among the measurement features, there is the maximum surface measurement (measuring instantaneously the most extended surface of the target in the measurement range), counting on targets in a specified range, the min/max diameter… With these measurements it is possible to detect cracks. With the VHX-2000, several automatic measurements can be done, saving thus plenty of time. This can be done by defining a measurement template. A pattern search is then carried out on the area using the template.
The VHX-2000 series is a general-purpose tool with a magnification from 0.1 to 5000x via a single system. It should be noted that each lens has its own attachment device. Thus, changing from one lens to another is much faster and is risk free.
