STAGEMAKER hoists for the Eurobasket 2011
Baltic Load Lifting Company, BLLC, has installed 4 STAGEMAKERs hoists in the newly builtd arena in Kaunas city, Lithuania, dedicated to lifting the scoreboards.
The Žalgiris Arena is an indoor arena in the New Town of Kaunas, Lithuania. The arena is located on an island in the Nemunas River. It is the largest indoor arena in the Baltics. The arena’s maximum capacity for basketball games is 15,442 seats, and 16,160 seats for concerts (when the stage is in the centre, and 11,256 when stage is to the side of the arena). The Žalgiris Arena has replaced the Kaunas Sports Hall as a major venue in the city. Construction of the arena started in September 2008, the main contractor for the arena is Lithuanian construction company Vėtrūna, chief architect – Eugenijus Miliunas. The total cost of the arena is estimated to be 168.8m litas (50 million euros). The arena was opened on 18th of August 2011 with a Eurobasket 2011 basketball match between Lithuania and Spain.
BLLC has installed 4 STAGEMAKER SM10 hoists and has made all fittings and construction to accommodate the 1 ton scoreboard. The STAGEMAKER SM10 chain hoists can lift loads of up to one ton, at a speed of 4 m per minute. They are distinguished by their high degree of reliability. Several thousand of them are used all over the world and benefit from the experience VERLINDE has acquired over decades in the entertainment world. Furthermore, safety equipment such as electro-magnetic disc brakes and safety clutches are standard.

Currently BLLC’s objectives are to continue leading complex projects, expand its production significantly and become a pioneering expert in the Lithuanian market.
