Emitech Group, authorized partner for Sigfox Ready certification
As a qualified Sigfox Partner, Emitech Group is the only French laboratory authorized to perform Sigfox Ready™ certification.
Founded in 2009 in Labège, a small town near Toulouse, Sigfox claims to be the world leader in connectivity services for the IoT (Internet of Things). Based on its LPWA (Low Power Wide Area) network, the Sigfox solution is currently deployed in 36 countries, with nationwide coverage in 17 of these, reaching a population 660 million across a geographic area of 2.6 million km2.To enable billions of devices to communicate, it is not only a matter of the territorial deployment of base stations, the embedded parts of the communicating objects have to be correctly implemented too. Because of this, the company obliges all devices communicating on its network to be Sigfox certified. This is to ensure that the Sigfox connectivity integrated in equipment from partners has a sufficient level of performance and permits the network to maintain high Quality of Service because each device conforms to the Sigfox radio specifications (conducted and radiated).
The Sigfox certification programme enables its partners to integrate Sigfox connectivity in their products by supplying a library with an implementation of the protocol. It also enables the global radiated performance parameters and Quality of Service to be evaluated.
As a qualified Sigfox Partner, Emitech Group is the only French laboratory authorized to perform Sigfox Ready™ certification. This principally consists of performing measurements which evaluate the radiation performance parameters of the end product. The test results are used to classify each uplink device and indicate the efficiency of the radiated power emitted by the equipment.
It should also be noted that Emitech offers to carry out all the required procedures for CE Marking as well, a prerequisite for selling any product in Europe. The services offered can also include taking into account other procedures required by extra-European countries targeted by a product launch, or the customization of tests for a specific type of qualification.
Since recently, requests for Sigfox Ready certification no longer have to go through Sigfox first, but can now be addressed directly to Emitech at (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or www.emitech.fr/sigfox)
