DIAM 2017: Emerson showcases pilot valve solutions for actuators More safety and efficiency for process systems
At the DIAM trade fair for industrial valves, seals and drive technology in Bochum (8 - 9 November 2017) Emerson is featuring its powerful ASCO solenoid valve solutions for controlling valve actuators. Customers and prospective buyers can also get a close look at these highly reliable, robust, complete systems and discuss their requirements with the manufacturer (stand FF70)
In many branches of the process industry, system performance and safety depend on the control of actuators. With over 100 years of experience, Emerson offers leading solutions for safe and efficient fluid automation to the oil and gas industry, the bio and pharma industry, food, petrochemicals and other industry sectors. With the ASCO 327 series, customers can rely on a direct-action solenoid valve, proven already millions of times, which combines high throughput with low power consumption and long service life. The advantages afforded by the design of these pilot valves become especially evident in harsh environments. Thanks to the special sealing system, any contamination that could impair their functionality (for example sticking or stick-slip) is almost eliminated.
Additional product highlights at the ASCO stand (FF70) are the 551 and 553 series of spool valves. These components are extremely temperature-resistant (against both heat and cold) and are also available in ATEX and SIL-certified variants. On request, additional certifications (IECEx, UL, CU, TR, KOSHA etc.) can be performed and a wide range of housing options and various materials are available (including 316L stainless steel).
Design expertise guarantees safety and availability.
As a partner to the oil and gas industry for many years, and as a member of IEC standardization committees, Emerson has in-depth safety expertise. Functional safety in conformance with IEC61508 is provided by fault-tolerant control systems in 1oo2 or 2oo1 versions that can additionally be certified as SIL 3 compliant. In close collaboration with customers, Emerson also develops integrated solutions with valve islands which can be installed in control cabinets or control panels. This activity is growing more and more in importance, especially in the life sciences, as it enables both space requirements to be reduced and strict hygiene requirements to be met.
The ASCO range of solutions also includes Redundant Control Systems (RCS), Actuator Control Systems (ACS) as well as customer-specific solutions, which Emerson can furnish on request as complete turnkey systems. The customer receives a fully-tested and certified solution with complete documentation (3D drawings and schematics, BOM, etc.) which is tailored precisely to their requirements, ready to install and including all extra components.
Automation from a single source generates synergy effects
Emerson not only offers a wide range of ASCO products for fluid automation, it also provides the latest automation technology. For example, the CHARM functions integrated in the Delta V process control system support signal independent, plug-and-play connection to the actuators which can generate significant cost savings.
