Altech Corporation, a leader in industrial automation solutions, announces the release of DFS F Audio residual current circuit-breakers (RCCB) for premium and high-end audio systems, eliminating the long-standing compromise between electrical safety and sound fidelity.
Standard RCCBs can introduce subtle yet audible aberrations, leading many sound professionals to forego essential earth leakage protection on their critical audio circuits. Addressing this issue, the DFS F Audio reliably protects people and electrical installations from dangerous residual currents while preventing the loss of sound quality thanks to its special design:
- Extremely low-impedance design throughout the current path.
- Solid silver-plated connection terminals and internal conductors.
- High-purity, low-oxygen copper with gold-plated terminal screws.
- Large switching contacts with high contact pressure.
- Special push-through summation current transformer that prevents undesirable inductive components.
As a mixed frequency sensitive Type F RCCB, the DFS F Audio series protects against AC residual currents, pulsating DC residual currents and mixed frequency residual currents produced by modern switch-mode power supplies. Featuring a rated short-circuit current of 10 kA and maximum disconnection times of 300 ms, it provides fast, reliable protection that operates independently of mains voltage. It also trips in fault conditions while withstanding mixed frequencies and surge currents during normal operation.
The DFS F Audio is available in both two- (DFS 2 F Audio) and four-pole (DFS 4 F Audio) designs with a rated residual current of 30 mA and rated currents up to 63 A. Four-pole models are available with a neutral conductor on the right or left, providing greater installation flexibility. The series is an ideal choice for both personal high-end audio systems and professional applications in theaters, concert halls and cinemas.
