Schmalz Introduces More Modular VCBL-GL Vacuum Block

The tried and tested VCBL-GL delivers what it promises. Schmalz originally developed the vacuum block for the special grinding and cutting of glass workpieces on smooth table machines from the Japanese manufacturer Bando Kiko. The vacuum specialist stocks all standard heights used in the glass industry as standard. And thanks to the modular design, special heights can also be implemented on inquiry. This innovative solution is now also suitable for other industries, such as stone processing. Among other things, this is made possible by the new triple sealing, which holds the vacuum even more reliably and offers more - especially for demanding applications. With its high transverse pick-up, the suction cup fixes them safely and gently - and they can be dry or wet.

Schmalz has designed the new version to be even more modular for maximum flexibility: Individual assemblies can be easily replaced, combined or adapted - which also makes servicing and maintenance easier. Thanks to an extensive spare parts catalog, applications benefit from higher availability and lower overall operating costs. The modular design also makes it possible to reduce the purchase price by up to 40 percent compared to the previous version.

The VCBL-GL-C for glass processing is available in various basic geometries - square, rectangular or in special shapes such as triangular. Individual inquiries can also be addressed with flexible heights. Schmalz manufactures the upper suction plate individually according to customer data, while the base plate is optimally matched to the clamping surface. This means that every workpiece can be clamped efficiently and accurately.

The VCBL-GL-C offers a special highlight with its reversing function: applications can handle mirrored components with just one suction cup. The special friction material enables high lateral force absorption and precise machining even with high forces. With a height tolerance of ±0.05 millimetres, replaceable sealing cord and robust aluminum base body, the VCBL-GL is precise, economical and robust. This makes it suitable for continuous operation in series production.
