The steute business field »Extreme« provides machine and plant engineers with the new 91 series of robust switchgear that has been designed especially for unfavourable environmental conditions : emergency pull-wire switches, belt-alignment and position switches, »Heavy duty« switchgear. At the Hanover Fair, in addition to electromechanical wireless switchgear working according to the »energy harvesting« principle, the steute business field »Wireless« has introduced a new generation of wireless sensors using the sWave® wireless protocol, developed by steute and running on the 868 / 915 MHz frequency band.

Type RC 2580 magnetic sensors: extremely robust and compact magnetic sensors

As an alternative to electromagnetic switchgear, non-contact sensors are increasingly finding their way into machine and plant engineering. steute already has a wide range of sensors working according to different principles and is now expanding its range further to include type RC 2580 magnetic sensors.

Many mechanical and plant engineers are aware of the problem: in order to, for example, query a position, an inductive sensor needs to be attached to a moving machine part. The power and signal cables are extremely complex to lay, however, requiring drag chain cables or abrasive wheels.

Robust emergency pull-wire switch for heavy duty applications

With the new ZS 91, steute is expanding its range of emergency pull-wire switches to include a series which has been developed especially for heavy duty applications. Its enclosure is made of fibreglass-reinforced plastic and can withstand very high levels of mechanical wear and tear. Its release lever makes handling easier, while its optimised construction – in combination with the latest manufacturing technology – permits realisation of protection classes up to IP 67.
