Eplan Engineering Center is becoming Eplan Engineering Configuration: the new name is being introduced with Version 2.4 and demonstrates that configuration is a core function of Eplan’s mechatronic engineering solutions. The launch at SPS IPC Drives will also introduce revised functionalities and the version number now matches that of the Eplan Platform.
At the SPS IPC Drives EPLAN Experience will be launched: a new knowledge-driven international program introduced by EPLAN that aims to optimize engineering efficiency. By making engineering practices more efficient, it will lead to specific and clear competitive advantages such as strategic innovation management through high-performing IT environment; shorter time to market; optimal resource management; and greater international competitiveness.
More integration for electrical engineering and PLC programming
Transferring data from electrical engineering directly into PLC programming – this is now state-of-the-art technology with the integration of Eplan Electric P8 and GX Works2. Yet Mitsubishi Electric Europe and Eplan to continue strive for more as partners. Through the e-F@ctory Alliance, they are able to further increase project quality and data consistency for users.
The new major release of the EPLAN Platform is now available. PLC project planning in graphical overviews, sub-projects and new navigation options accelerate project planning, even in large projects. Extended support for IEC 81346 and IEC 61355 through structuring principles and reference designations offers a basis for innovative design methods.
Teamcenter interface expanded
EPLAN and Teamcenter has launched a jointly developed advanced interface. The interface includes bi-directional catalog part synchronization of the E-CAD and PLM part libraries. Synchronizations can be scheduled either regularly or created on demand. The new integration includes functions for creation and update of parts data and also supports the latest Teamcenter releases.
An integrated 3D viewer, a new user interface with manufacturer logos in fast and easy grid layout, additional manufacturers and updated component catalogues: The new version of the Eplan Data Portal will be available as of August 2014 and it provides users with significant functional advantages and, since it now contains 470,000 components, also features 20% more device data.
