Comau is designing energy-efficient cell formation technologies for GIGABAT, a collaborative e-Mobility project aimed at strengthening the EU production chain for large-scale cell manufacturing.
Comau will present its latest developments for smart manufacturing at Hannover Messe Digital 2021 (April 12-16), reflecting the company’s unique HUMANufacturing approach to Industry 4.0. At the virtual booth, attendees can discover Comau’s collaborative, wearable technologies and electrification-enabling solutions designed to increase productivity and efficiency within the evolving Smart Factory.
Comau introduces its RACER-5-0.80 (Racer-5 COBOT), a new paradigm in collaborative robotics which meets the growing demand for fast, cost-effective cobots that can be used in restricted spaces and in different application areas. Countering the belief that collaborative robots are slow, Racer-5 COBOT is a 6-axis articulated robot that can work at industrial speed up to 6 m/s. With a 5 kg payload and 809 mm reach, it ensures optimal industrial efficiency while granting the added benefit of safe, barrier-free operations. Furthermore, the cobot can instantly switch from a collaborative mode to full speed when operators are not around, letting its 0.03 mm repeatability and advanced movement fluidity deliver unmatched production rates.
On March 24, 2021, Comau's Wearable Robotics Specialist Cayla Zielinski will present the latest product in Comau's wearable exoskeleton line, MATE-XT in a webinar hosted by the Wearable Robotics Association (WearRA).
Comau has joined EIT Manufacturing, an Innovation Community within the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), in their efforts to help students and young professionals explore new trends in producing safe, sustainable batteries with an eye to a carbon-neutral future.
TIM and Comau have signed a technology collaboration agreement with the aim of accelerating the adoption of Internet of Things-based solutions in the manufacturing industry. The two companies will support the digital transformation of manufacturing organizations by exploiting, in their respective areas of excellence, the potential offered by connectivity technologies including 5G, Edge cloud, data analysis, robotics and Artificial Intelligence.
