Now operating on more than 300,000 pumps worldwide, the new Ingersoll Rand motor technology for diaphragm pumps is a true success story. The technology combats three confounding pump motor issues: freezing, stalling and poor energy efficiency. With the purchase price of diaphragm pumps comprising as little as 5% of the overall cost of ownership, the benefit of Ingersoll Rand’s innovative technology is clear. Operating for five years on all Expert series pumps (3/8’’ to 2’’ for non metal pumps, ½’’ to 3’’ for metal pumps), it has brought operating costs down by 20% to 50 %.
The ARO Fluid Technologies division of Ingersoll Rand Industrial Technologies has released a new line of portable air-operated diaphragm pumps specially developed for mining, construction, sump and other operations where a reliable, de-watering and solids handling pump is an every day requirement. Pit Boss pumps are built to handle the toughest applications while ensuring high flow rates of up to 821 L/min. Notably, they are equipped with a diaphragm that lasts up to four times longer than competitive models and with a patented air motor that guarantees worry-free operation without ice over or stall out.
This new control handle from Ingersoll Rand is intended for use in the easy handling of loads from 5 to 225kg. Used with Ingersoll Rand’s standard range of pneumatic load balancers, it is the only model on the market that is completely pneumatic, so doesn’t require any electric power supply. It gives the user an acute sense of control, with ergonomic positioning of the load, which allows increased productivity.
Ingersoll Rand, which has been involved in the Dakar rally race for the last three years, will team up with the Euromaster, Mitsubishi and Toyota teams in 2009. It will offer them portable tools, including the new IQv range of impact wrenches. These wrenches can release torques up to 500Nm and will last three times longer than similar products on the market. IQv tools are also lighter and more compact than rival products, characteristics particularly appreciated by race competitors.
