Monitor the mini wave

Fluke Process Instruments announces the smallest thermal profiling system designed specifically for miniature wave selective soldering processes. The DATAPAQ SelectivePaq uses four thermocouples to take measurements from the electronic assembly as it passes through the preheating and dip soldering phases. Sample intervals can be adjusted to up to 20 times per second. The detailed temperature profiles enable electronics manufacturers to adjust their operations for optimum efficiency, validate the consistent quality of PCBs to customers, and prove adherence to both solder and component temperature constraints. The profiling system combines a new four-channel DATAPAQ MicroQ18 data logger with the latest micro-miniature thermocouple plugs and a low-mass thermal shield merely 20 mm high and 40 mm wide. It is therefore optimally suited to monitor the performance of machines that offer very restricted space and for use with holding frames. The complementary DATAPAQ Selective Soldering Process Sensor Array facilitates regular and frequent process stability measurements.

Compact logger checks cure of coated monoblock containers

Fluke Process Instruments has developed a miniature monitoring solution for monoblock cure processes. The DATAPAQ MonoPaq2 system profiles the metal temperature of coated aluminum bottles, aerosols, and collapsible tubes both in IBO and OBO lines. The thermal barrier measures merely 41 x 48 x 195 mm, making it 43% smaller by volume than the preceding generation. The temperature profiling system can be used in lines with very closely spaced pins (>45 mm) and with various product basket sizes. This engineering success is primarily based on the development of a new data logger with a minimal footprint. The new DATAPAQ MicroQ18 logger connects four thermocouples via micro-miniature sockets and logs up to 32,000 readings per channel with an adjustable interval of 0.05 s or more. Its accuracy of ±0.5 °C puts it squarely in the class of the best available loggers.

An eye on hot spots in steelworks and metals processing – Endurance infrared thermometer

Fluke Process Instruments will showcase infrared temperature monitoring solutions tailored to primary and secondary metals manufacturing processes at the 2016 HeatTreatmentCongress in Cologne, Germany, in hall 4.1, at stand B-071. Geared at high-temperature applications, the new Endurance series covers wide measured temperature ranges of +550 °C to +1,800 °C and +1,000 °C to +3,200 °C, respectively. The pyrometers feature a stainless steel IP65 housing and galvanically insulated I/Os. They can be operated in one- or two-color (ratio pyrometer) mode. An optical resolution of up to 150:1 allows measurements of smaller objects from a distance.

High-temperature pyrometers fit for harsh environs

Berlin – Fluke Process Instruments introduces the Endurance series of high-temperature infrared thermometers. Featuring a stainless steel IP65 housing and galvanically insulated I/Os, these units enable continuous process monitoring of the most demanding industrial applications, including primary and secondary metals manufacturing, carbon processing, and silicon production. Providing a measurement resolution of 0.1 °C, they also meet the requirements of the semiconductor industry. Two models cover wide measured temperature ranges of +550 °C to +1,800 °C and +1,000 °C to +3,200 °C, respectively. They can be operated in one- or two-color (ratio pyrometer) mode. An optical resolution of up to 150:1 allows measurements of smaller objects from a distance.

Kiln and furnace temperature logs analyzed and optimized

Berlin – Operators of kilns and furnaces can now make the best of their resources: the new DATAPAQ Insight Basic software from Fluke Process Instruments enables precise and fast analysis of thermal processes. The manufacturer also supplies a full range of thermal barriers and data loggers that record temperature profiles while inside the furnace or kiln. Trimmed down to the essentials but with highly useful application-specific tools, DATAPAQ Insight Basic is the right software for manufacturers working in a competitive market. A new contour plot function generates heat maps of 2D products, allowing line operators to pinpoint hot and cold spots and identify possible causes such as faulty burners. Ceramics manufacturers can rely on the tested and proven quartz index analysis function for close monitoring of heating and cooling rates across the quartz inversion zone. They can set alarms for time at temperature and slopes. Usability has been further improved through a new, simplified process file template, which gathers together all process and oven parameters. DATAPAQ Insight Basic is available in 14 languages. Users can toggle between selected languages on the fly. The software fully supports the new DATAPAQ TP3 data loggers with up to 20 thermocouples, including support for multiple thermocouple types, up to ten runs before data read-out, multiple events, start/stop triggers, real-time process monitoring via radio, and Bluetooth connectivity.
