International technology group ANDRITZ has received an order from Olympic Steel, Inc. to supply an innovative cut-to-length line for its facility in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.

This is the second green hydrogen order from Germany within 12 months & marks an important step towards becoming a leading industrial partner in the development and implementation of large-scale green hydrogen plants.

The cooperation gives ANDRITZ access to Eickmeyer’s hot potassium carbonate (HPC) technology known under the brand name CATACARB.

Through this agreement, ANDRITZ and Powerhouse Controls are focused on improving customer reliability and machine uptime with an integrated solution.

The partnership aims to scale Ionic MT’s nano-silicon production methodology to meet the surging demand for battery materials that enable faster-charging, longer-range lithium-ion batteries.

The shredders will be installed in two lines. Start-up of the first line will take place in 2024.

The scope of supply comprised a complete fiber preparation line, including a debarking and chipping line as well as the steel structure, piping material and installation work.

ANDRITZ will supply a new HERB recovery boiler, new ash leaching system and an upgrade of the non-condensable gases (NCG) collection and incineration system to The Navigator Company.

ANDRITZ will supply a complete fibre preparation line for a greenfield plant in the Toshka area in the south of Egypt.
