ANSI Approval Marks Major Milestone for Digital Manufacturing and Model-Based Enterprise Adoption.

With the passing of Bailey Squier, co-founder of Digital Metrology Standards Consortium (DMSC), its Board of Directors contemplated ways to ensure his accomplishments and legacy are not forgotten. As a symbol of gratitude and admiration for the life and legacy of Mr. Squier, the DMSC Board established the Bailey H. Squier DMSC Metrology Memorial Scholarship.

The Digital Metrology Standards Consortium (DMSC, Inc.) is pleased to announce an update to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the MTConnect^® Institute. The original MoU was signed in 2011. As technology has evolved, both organizations recognize an even greater need to optimize the way industrial software and machines work together, to encourage manufacturing standards development, and to use data modeling to enable information interoperability by specifying the content of specific information and where it is stored – all with the goal of improving manufacturing efficiency.

Software company Elysium has announced support for QIF 3.0 (Quality Information Framework) in the latest product update of their 3DxSUITE EX9, available August 1, 2021. This newest update offers primary support of QIF 3.0 with bi-directional translation and validation of the MBD portion. Elysium also supports change detection within QIF, as with any supported format.

The DMSC (Digital Metrology Standards Consortium), recently had their ANSI/DMSC QIF 3.0  metrology standard harvested, approved, and published by ISO as the new ISO Standard ISO 23952:2020 .
