Easier than ever to implement and adapt for variable speed applications with the highest levels of energy efficiency!

Emerson Industrial Automation’s latest solutions, such as the Powerdrive FX four-quadrant drive in combination with an LSRPM synchronous magnet-type motor from the company’s Dyneo^® range, are now delivering priceless advantages to increasing numbers of wells using beam pumps (RRP, reciprocating rod pumps).

The water treatment and distribution company, SEMEA, has achieved a return on its investment over 14 months by replacing a pumping installation with a solution developed by LEROY-SOMER and FLOWSERVE. Characterized by low rate variations, this application, initially at fixed speed, had little potential to achieve energy savings. As such, it is a good example that in many cases, changing a drive mechanism can yield economic benefits.

Through its involvement, its mastery of technologies and its great experience in electric vehicles, Leroy-Somer has taken a leading position in this emerging market, as evidenced by this partnership with mia electric. The Mia is the first model sold by Mia electric. Since September 2011, the Mia has been on sale to private individuals. This electric car designed for the city, stands apart by the requirements it intends to meet: "Compactness, spaciousness, driving simplicity, easy access, economy, and fun".

Leroy-Somer offers motor solutions to the users, installers and manufacturers of refrigeration equipment which are high-performance, compact and highly efficient: fixed-speed induction motors, high-efficiency motors, variable speed and, for peak productivity, the new Dyneo^® permanent magnet solutions. This patented technology gives very high efficiency over the entire speed range, coupled with exceptional compactness, giving higher COP than with traditional solutions. This performance was demonstrated when J&E Hall International chose Leroy-Somer to drive its compressors. This major manufacturer of refrigeration equipment has just installed the refrigeration system for a new distribution centre belonging to Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc. The energy savings have been estimated at about 45,000 euros over 4 years.

This exceptionally compact solution offers total control over start-up and a response to energy saving requirements.

LSRPM is a series of permanent-magnet synchronous motors incorporating technology patented by Leroy-Somer. The innovative design of the magnet rotor increases efficiency by almost 10% to levels approaching 98%. The size reduction is of the order of 50%. This type of motor is intended for applications for which electricity consumption is high and continuous. This means that in a very large number of cases the time to return on investment for replacement of an asynchronous motor by LSRPM will be less than one year. As motors account for more than 70% of the electrical energy consumed in industry, the new LSRPM product line also contributes to the essential objectives of CO2 emission reduction.
