EMKA Group is the world market leader for locking systems, hinges, and seals used in switch and control cabinets for electronics and electrical engineering. With over 40 years of experience, EMKA offers a comprehensive range of products catering to industries such as mechanical engineering, air conditioning technology, and transport, including railway and commercial vehicles. The company's expertise extends to both conventional and electronic locking solutions, ensuring the security and functionality of industrial enclosures. EMKA's commitment to quality and innovation has solidified its position as a trusted partner in the global market.
The new 125° clip-in hinge from EMKA allows easy mounting and removal of surface-mounted doors, ideal for industrial, special vehicle, and rail applications.
The Nordex Group has over 35 years of experience in the onshore wind turbine business, and it sets a benchmark for renewable energies. Since its foundation, the global technology company has installed wind turbines having more than 41 gigawatts of rated power. In 2019, Nordex decided to interact with another global player, EMKA. The turbines feature a unique compression latch from the world market leader based in Velbert, Germany.
EMKA’s product portfolio has a recent addition: the emergency hammer compliant with DIN EN 45545-2 HL3. EMKA has developed a robust product specifically for rail vehicles. In trains, in particular, the safety demands are exceptionally high, including the need for the “little lifesavers“. Besides the impact effect, compliance with the European fire protection standard is mandatory. In order to fulfil these systems, EMKA uses a special plastic.
A clever addition to EMKA's portfolio: With the screw-on hinge without hinge pin from the 1056 program, which is now available, we offer our customers a smart alternative to conventional hinges. The clou: The screw-on hinge does not need the usual hinge pin.

EMKA has further optimised its multipoint locking system for switch cabinets. The use of connecting rods made of glass fibre-reinforced polyamide significantly increases the strength values of the system. The upgrade delivers previously unattained stability and also opens up new possibilities in the price-sensitive segment for larger enclosures and housings up to a door height of 220 cm.
EMKA has expanded its product range with a folding T-Handle series. These are robust locks dedicated for use on heavy or large doors and flaps with a thickness of up to 4 mm. For this reason, the folding handles have also been designed to be significantly larger and stronger than the basic version.
In particular, high-quality locking technology is usually installed in hazardous areas, but the handles often protrude too far from the door’s surface. EMKA’s flat swinghandle protrudes only 9 mm from the cabinet’s surface and is ideal for areas with narrow passageways, escape routes, or design-oriented enclosures. But in addition to safety and design, EMKA has also considered installation convenience and made it possible to replace the respective locking device from the front of the cabinet – without time-consuming disassembly of the entire handle – but simply through the removal of the two bottom screws.
